医学・生物学的な研究・試験で広く用いられている空気
置換式のピペッタ−は、構造上、液滴やミストがその本
体に付着したり吸い込まれたりする事があり、それらは
引き続いて扱われる液体と共に排出されてクロスコンタ
ミネーションを起こす事がある。これによるクロスコン
タミネーションの防止は専ら操作者の注意力と手技の熟
度に頼るのみで、それでもなお完全を期す事はできず、

のピペットチップ、4はピペッタ−のプランジャー 5
は薄膜構造を着けて一体としたピペットチップ、6は液
体である。
