Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress generation of scuffing and seizure by constituting a supply means of cooling oil so as to supply cooling oil at a portion facing a continuous wall part where two cylinders are integrally connected at the adjacent parts, on the sliding surface between a cylinder and a piston. CONSTITUTION:Cylinders of a multi-cylinder type engine 1 are formed as siamese type cylinders which ate integrally connected at the adjacent parts of the fore and aft cylinders 3 within water-cooled jacket 2, to constitute so as to supply cooling oil by means of a supply means of cooling oil 5 at the portion(as marked by xxx) facing a continuous wall part 6 where two cylinders are integrally connected at the adjacent parts on the sliding surface between a cylinder and a piston. The supply means of cooling oil 5 is constituted so as to form an oil passage 9 and an ejection port 10 at a bearing 8 of a crankshaft 7, to pressure-feed the oil within an oil pan to the oil passage 9 through a circulating pump, etc., (not shown in the figure), and to eject the cooling oil toward the part facing the continuous wall part 6 from the ejection port 10.
