This invention is an exhaust system for a railway vehicle configured to discharge exhaust gas from the roof, by arranging a variable current plate above the end of the roof near the head of the vehicle to form a wind path. This system regulates the flow of exhaust gas and prevents it from flowing into the passenger compartment.

Air that collides with the head 1 of a railway vehicle while the vehicle is running, as shown in FIG. 4, flows approximately along the surface of the head 1 and then flows away rearward along the vehicle 2. However, this flow of air is likely to cause phenomena such as separation from the vehicle 2 depending on the outer shape of the vehicle 2 and the condition of the outer surface of the vehicle 2, and turbulence is generated everywhere.

In particular, when the head 1 of the vehicle 2 is configured with a vertical surface as shown in FIG. 4 (hereinafter abbreviated as "gable type"), the head 1 and the roof 3 are perpendicular to each other as shown in the figure. The air separates from the vehicle 2 at the roof end 3a, creating a negative air pressure section at the roof end 3a.

For this reason, the exhaust gas 5 discharged from the exhaust pipe 4 disposed on the roof 3 flows toward the negative pressure area as shown by the arrow in the figure, and then rides on the turbulent air flow and flows toward the car window, for example, as shown by the arrow in the figure. From 10 onwards, some of it flows into the company and contaminates the inside of the car.

In order to solve this problem, for example, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 128957/1983 discloses an "exhaust blow-up device" as shown in FIG. 5A. That is, in this device, as shown by the solid line arrow in FIG.
, the upper end 4a of the exhaust pipe 4 as shown in FIG. 5B.
The exhaust 5 is caused by the upward flow of the air.
The flow is made to flow upward as indicated by the dotted arrow shown in the figure. In this way, the exhaust gas 5 does not flow along the roof 3 of the vehicle 2, so that a situation where the exhaust gas 5 flows into the vehicle through the air intake port 9 provided in the roof 3 can be avoided.

However, if the head 1 is of a gable type, as shown in FIG. 4, and the exhaust pipe 4 is also provided close to the roof end 3a, as shown in FIG. 8 as shown by the solid line arrow in FIG. Wind tunnel experiments conducted by the applicant have also revealed that the liquid flows into pressure areas.

Therefore, the exhaust gas 5 discharged from the exhaust pipe 4 as shown in FIG. 5B also flows into the negative pressure section along with the air flowing in the opposite direction, and as already shown in FIG. There is a risk that the liquid may flow into the vehicle.

Furthermore, the exhaust induction box 8 shown in FIG. 5A has a complicated structure and requires time and effort to manufacture. Furthermore, it is not easy to attach the box 8 to the upper end 4a of the exhaust pipe 4. Furthermore, if the structurally unbalanced exhaust guide box 8 is attached to the exhaust pipe 4 and placed in a strong air flow, harmful vibrations are likely to be induced and the exhaust guide box 8 and the exhaust pipe may be damaged. Therefore, if an attempt is made to attach the exhaust guide box 8 not only to the exhaust pipe 4 but also to the roof 3 to ensure its installation, it becomes increasingly difficult to rotate the exhaust guide box 8 with respect to the exhaust pipe 4, and the exhaust guide box 8 becomes difficult to rotate relative to the exhaust pipe 4. It becomes almost impossible to change the direction of the signal 8 to match the direction of travel of the vehicle 2, or
Alternatively, a complicated rotation means is particularly required to rotate the exhaust induction box 8.

The present invention is an exhaust system for a railway vehicle configured to discharge exhaust gas from a power engine through the roof of the vehicle, in which a current transformation plate is fixed to the roof via leg plates protruding from the left and right ends of the exhaust system. This current transformation plate is disposed above the roof edge near at least one of the front and rear heads of the vehicle and along the roof, and the current flow plate is generated above the roof edge. The exhaust system for the railway vehicle is constructed so that the low-pressure air region during the running of the vehicle is eliminated by the wind path formed on the roof by the current transformation plate and the left and right leg plates, and the flow of the exhaust gas is adjusted.

The device according to the invention is therefore very simple in its construction. Moreover, since it is only necessary to attach it to the roof rather than to the exhaust pipe, the installation work is extremely easy and can be done reliably. Furthermore, since the length of the mounting portion can be easily extended to the desired length and the mounting is as secure as described above, it is extremely simple to ensure that the device is free from harmful vibrations. Furthermore, since the device of the present invention can be simply and easily installed at the front and rear ends of the vehicle as required, the device can always be operated effectively even if the direction of travel of the vehicle changes.

For example, when vehicle 2 moves to the left in Figure 1,
As shown by the solid arrow in FIG. 1, the air in front of the vehicle 2 first collides with the head 1 of the vehicle 2, and then flows in all directions almost along the surface of the head 1. Among these airflows, the upward airflow is guided into the airway 17 by the current changing plate 12 as shown in the figure, and
It is rectified within 7. Next, the flow direction of the air flowing out from the air passage 17 is changed upward by the protrusion 18 as shown in the figure.

Note that if we consider a vehicle that does not have the above-mentioned air intake port 9 on the roof 3, the air will flow away along the roof 3 due to the rectifying effect of the wind duct 17, so even if the protrusion 18
Even if it is not provided, there is no risk that the exhaust gas 5 will flow into the vehicle through the window 10 provided on the side of the vehicle 2. Therefore, in such a case, the current transformation protrusion 18 becomes unnecessary.
