Abstract

PURPOSE:To inform a user in detail of the voltage drop by providing a detecting means to detect the voltage drop and a display means which shows a voltage range less than a prescribed level of the detecting means in three steps by means of an LED. CONSTITUTION:The detector IC 13, 14 and 15 are set at 4.0V, 4.3V and 4.5V respectively. When the voltage of a main battery is gradually reduced less than 4.5V, the IC 15 is turned on and a signal is applied to an LED unit 6 from an OR gate 23 via an AND gate 21. Thus the unit 6 emits the green light to warn the small remaining capacity of the battery. When the battery voltage drops less then 4.3V, the IC 14 is turned on and the unit 6 emits the green and red beams via an AND gate 20 and the OR gates 22 and 23 respectively. These two emitted beams are recognized as an orange beam that warns the less remaining capacity of the battery. Furthermore the unit 6 emit the red light when the battery voltage drops less than 4.0V and warns that the battery has virtually no remaining capacity.

[Prior Art] As the name suggests, a handheld terminal is something that is held in the hand. Therefore, there is a limit to the size of the display screen, and it is not possible to display a variety of information on it at once, unlike a so-called display device of a personal computer.

Therefore, it is necessary to take some measures to notify the user that the battery voltage has decreased. Jitsukaisho 60-57839
In the device disclosed in the above publication, the user is notified of a decrease in battery voltage by blinking the display content on the display unit. In this way, the screen display based on the program being executed at the time is used as is, so that the minimum necessary processing can be performed using that display before the battery is completely discharged.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] However, most of the display devices currently used in hand-held computer terminals are based on liquid crystals, and their visibility is poor. Since it is a one-stage display, the remaining usable time after the blink state is unknown. In addition, it is difficult to determine the set value of the blink level, and there is a problem that the screen blinking is difficult to perform, and the program for displaying the blink screen becomes complicated.

Thus, the CPU 2 is executing a certain program stored in the ROM 3 or RA, M4, such as a product ordering program. At this time, when the voltage monitoring circuit 11 detects a drop in the terminal voltage of the main battery 12 and supplies an interrupt signal to the CPU 2, the CPU 2 responds to this and enters an interrupt processing routine. , ED Units 1-6 are displayed. Here, the display of this LED 6 will be explained with reference to FIG. 3. ■C for voltage detection,

-5 is set to 4.5v. When the main battery 12 is used and the voltage gradually decreases to 4.5V or less, the detection I
Cl3 turns ON, and O via AND gate 1-21.
A signal is applied from the R games 1 to 23 to the LED unit 1 6, and the LED unit 6 emits green light to warn that the remaining battery power is getting low. If you continue to use the handy terminal 1 in this state without replacing or charging the battery, the battery voltage will further drop and when it becomes 4.3V or less, the detection IC 14 will turn on and, via the AND gate 20, Through the OR gates 22 and 23, the green and red lights of the LED unit 6 are emitted and recognized as orange, giving a warning that the remaining battery power is getting even lower. Furthermore, when the handy terminal 1 is used, the battery voltage further decreases to 4°0V or less, the detection ICl 3 is turned on, and the OR gate 22 is turned on via the A N D gate 19.
A signal is applied to LED unit 6 from LED unit 1.
-6 red light will be emitted to warn you that the battery is almost empty.
