Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a key-in device ensuring high operability while minimizing an operator's failure or error in entering data, and hardly causing fatigue even on a beginner or the like. CONSTITUTION:The operation torque of each key 11 is changed, depending upon the position thereof. An operator using his/her weak medical and little fingers, therefore, can properly enter data, even if a key-in force corresponding to the fingers is weak. As a result, even a beginner and a less experienced user as well as a skillful user can minimize an input failure or error. Also, a cause for fatigue can be eliminated to some extent.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, in a key input device installed in a computer or the like, a plurality of keys are arranged on a keyboard for inputting data by an operator's operation. These keys are manufactured so that they have the same structure and the same operating torque in all positions, so when operating the keys, the keys are operated by the thumb, index finger, middle finger, ring finger, and little finger. It is necessary to press with a constant operating torque with either finger.

As described above, in the conventional key input device, each key on the keyboard has the same structure and has the same operating torque.
Depending on the type of fingers used by the operator, there is a problem that input omissions or erroneous inputs may occur. In other words, compared to the thumb, index finger, and middle finger, it is difficult for the human finger to apply force to the ring finger and little finger. Therefore, when pressing a key with the ring finger or little finger, it is easy to miss or enter an incorrect input, and it is difficult to prevent such occurrences. If you try to do this, you have to be careful to input data accurately, and this also causes operational fatigue. This problem is especially common among beginners and infrequent users.

[Operation] In the present invention, as described above, the operating torque of each key is changed depending on the position of each key, so when an operator inputs data with a weak ring finger or little finger, the key corresponding to that finger is changed. Even if you press the button with a weak force, you can input it reliably. As a result, even beginners and users with little experience can avoid input errors and input errors as much as possible.
Moreover, the factors causing fatigue can be eliminated to some extent.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. The key input device of the embodiment is applied to a personal computer, and a plurality of keys 11 are arranged on a keyboard 10 in accordance with the JIS standard. Among these keys 11, in FIG. 1, for example, the lowest key is operated with the thumb, the keys 11 located in the center are operated with the index finger and the middle finger, respectively, and the left and right keys are operated with the ring finger and little finger. Therefore, it is generally determined which finger the operator uses depending on the position of the key 11. Therefore, in the embodiment, the operating torque of each key 11 is changed depending on the finger used by the operator. for example,
Of each key 11, when the operator operates with the thumb and index finger, that key 11 has the largest operating torque of 4, and when the operator operates with the middle finger, the key 11 has a slightly smaller operating torque of 3, and When operating with the ring finger, key 1 has operating torque 2, which is smaller than operating torque 3, and when operating with the little finger, key 11 has the smallest operating torque 1, corresponding to the finger used by the operator. In other words, the magnitude of the operating torque of each key 11 is changed depending on the position of the key 11. Therefore, in FIG. 1, codes 1 to 4 represent the magnitude of the operating torque, and the operating torque increases in the order of the larger code. Next, a configuration for changing the operating torque of each key 11 will be specifically described using FIG. 2. In FIG. 2, each key 11 is inserted through the keyboard 10 and protrudes to the outside.
When the contact 13 contacts the fixed contact 14, data can be input. For a key 11 having such a structure, for example, in the case of a key 11 with the largest operating torque of 4, the thickness of the rubber 12 is increased as shown in FIG. As shown in 3, the thickness of the rubber 12 is made thinner. Therefore, by changing the thickness of the rubber 12 in accordance with the magnitude of the operating torque of each key 11, the operating torque of each key 11 is changed. Note that the rubber 12 is attached on both sides within the keyboard 10 with an adhesive 15.

As described above, the key input device of the embodiment changes the operating torque depending on the position of each key 11 on the keyboard 10, so when the operator inputs data with a weak ring finger or little finger, , key 1 corresponding to that finger
Even if you press 1 with a weak force, you can input it reliably. As a result, not only experienced users but also beginners and inexperienced users can prevent input omissions and erroneous inputs as much as possible, and the cause of fatigue can be alleviated to some extent. Moreover, in the illustrated embodiment, the operating torque of each key 11 is changed depending on the type of thumb, index finger, middle finger, ring finger, and pinky finger, so changes in the operating force of each finger can be subtly dealt with, and the operation becomes easier. You can increase your power. In the illustrated embodiment, the key 11 has a membrane type structure using rubber 13, but in the present invention,
In the case of other types of structures, such as mechanical switch types that use springs, this can be done by changing the magnitude of the spring force, so it can be applied to other types of structures as well. It is sufficient if the operating torque of 11 can be changed.

As described above, according to the present invention, the operating torque of each key is changed depending on the position of the key in order to correspond to the type of finger of the operator. When operating with the finger or ring finger, input can be performed reliably even with weak force, reducing the occurrence of input errors and input errors, and eliminating the cause of fatigue to some extent, making it suitable for beginners and infrequent users. However, it has the effect of providing a key that is easy to use.
