In relatively short-time extracorporeal blood circulation processes, such as hemodialysis and plasma separation, blood leakage can be detected early because the patient or doctor constantly monitors for blood leakage. Conventional human monitoring of blood leakage is impossible in devices that perform extracorporeal circulation of blood for long periods of time, such as artificial kidney devices and extracorporeal circulation lung assist devices. Therefore, when putting the above-mentioned device into practical use, it is absolutely necessary to automatically detect leakage of blood or transfusion fluid, but such an automatic blood leakage detection device has not yet been proposed.

(Means for solving the problem) It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a device for automatically detecting blood leakage. The blood leakage detection device of the present invention consists of a flexible sheet-like material that is water-permeable or water-absorbent, with metal connectors attached to each end on both sides of a flexible base material that has water-absorbing properties. By arranging a conductor and covering the entire body with a flexible and water-absorbing protective sheet, and by reducing the electrical resistance between the two sheet-like conductors due to blood leakage. It consists of a blood leakage detection circuit that issues an alarm and a lead wire that is connected to the blood leakage detection circuit and has a connector attached to the end. This blood leak detection device is characterized in that a lead wire connected to a blood detection circuit is detachably connected to the blood detection circuit using a connector.

In the device of this invention, a blood leakage detection body, which has a water-absorbing flexible base material sandwiched between two flexible sheet-like conductors, and a blood leakage detection circuit are integrated via lead wires. As a result, even if the blood leak detection object is covered with a bandage, blanket, etc., as long as the blood leak detection circuit is separated from the patient by the lead wire, the nurse can be reliably notified by sound or light, and there will be no malfunction. We were able to provide a compact blood leakage detection device that can be safely used even in areas that come into direct contact with the human body.

FIG. 2 is a plan view of the blood leak detector 1, in which conductors 10 woven in a mesh pattern are arranged on both sides of a rectangular base material. Lead wire 5 is attached to the end of this conductor.
A connector 3 is connected to the connector 3', which is connected to the connector 3'. Connector 3, 3'
The blood leak detection circuit is electrically and mechanically coupled to the conductor 10, and a known metal attachment/detachment mechanism can be employed. In FIG. 2, a commercially available hook is used, which is easy to attach to the nonwoven fabric and is inexpensive.

The water-absorbing base material 11 sandwiched between the two sheet-like conductors 10 constituting the blood leakage detector 1 is made of natural fibers,
It is made of a cloth-like body knitted or woven with synthetic fibers, non-woven fabric, paper, film, etc., absorbs water to form a continuous phase of water, and is flexible. Normally, nonwoven fabric or gauze is preferably used. Further, any shape can be used depending on the mounting location. When wrapping around the arm, a rectangular shape is preferable.

0 may be any material as long as it is flexible and conductive. For example, tungsten, stainless steel, nickel, copper, etc. electric wires with a diameter of about 0.05 to 2 mm, or acrylic, vinylon, etc. fibers plated with silver, copper, nickel, etc., or aluminum, nickel, copper, etc. long thin films are punched. The average diameter or mesh spacing is 0.5μ to 5mm, preferably 0.5μ to 3mm.

The detection sensitivity of liquid leakage can be adjusted by adjusting the thickness of the base material 11 held between the two sheet-like conductors.
The thinner the base material, the higher the sensitivity, and the thicker the base material, the lower the sensitivity. When a nonwoven fabric with a thickness of 0.5 mm is attached between a sheet-like conductor made of plating fibers woven at intervals of 2 mm as shown in Figure 2, the leakage of 1 c.c. is usually approximately 1.5 mm.
Can be detected within seconds.

In order to protect the blood leak detector 1 from damage caused by external forces, it is preferable to cover the blood leak detector 1 with a water-absorbing protective sheet 12, as shown in a cross-sectional view in FIG. It is important that such a water-absorbing sheet has water-absorbing properties like the base material and is also flexible. Usually non-woven fabric or paper-like material is used. The conductor, the base material, and the protective sheet can be integrated by sandwiching the base material to which the sheet-like conductor is attached between two sheets and sewing the peripheral edges of the base material.

When attaching the blood leakage detector 1 to the human body, if the blood leakage detector 1 does not come into close contact with the human body, malfunctions or detection delays may occur. In order to avoid this detection trouble and to facilitate attachment to the human body, it is preferable to attach double-sided adhesive tape 13 to at least both ends of the back surface (the surface in contact with the human body) of the protective sheet. By attaching the adhesive tape to both ends of the rectangular protective sheet in the longitudinal direction, it is easy to attach it to the arm, etc., and it is reliable because both ends of the blood leakage detector are completely adhesive-sealed to the human body. Blood leakage can be detected.

The blood leakage detection circuit 4 can be constructed from a known alarm circuit. For example, as shown in FIG. 4, the comparison circuit is composed of a sensitivity setting circuit 21, a comparison circuit 22, and an alarm buzzer 23. A reference resistor and a conductor are connected in series to the power supply voltage, and the comparison circuit detects changes in the voltage across the reference resistor. The sensor is compared with a preset sensitivity voltage, and the buzzer is activated when the voltage falls below the set voltage. The buzzer stops when the lead wire 5 connected to the blood leak detection circuit is removed from the blood leak detector 1.

Instead of operating at constant voltage as shown in FIG. 4, it may be operated at constant current. Alternatively, the reference resistor may be made variable and the setting signal of the comparison circuit may be fixed. Also, the above circuit is a commercially available Melody IC2 as shown in Figure 5.
4, a piezoelectric buzzer 25, and a battery 26. In this case, if the melody IC is operated in one-shot mode, a predetermined melody can be played for a certain period of time when blood leakage is detected.

It is also possible to perform remote wireless monitoring using the alarm buzzer as a transmitter. In this case, blood leakage can be centrally monitored by having a plurality of blood leakage detection devices each emit signals of different wavelengths, and by installing a lamp with a receiver corresponding to each transmitter in the monitoring room.

is connected. When a hook as shown in FIG. 2 is used as a connector, a corresponding hook is also attached to the tip of the lead wire. Since the circuit and the blood leakage detector are connected and integrated using such a lead wire, handling of the device is convenient, and even if the blood leakage detector is covered with a bandage, blanket, etc., operation is reliable and problems such as insufficient volume are avoided. This can be prevented.

To use the device of the present invention, as shown in FIG. 1, the blood leak detector 1 is applied to the required area, and the lead wire connected to the blood leak detector circuit 4 is connected to the connector connected to the conductor. When blood leaks, moisture permeating the blood leak detection body lowers the electrical resistance between the two sheet-like conductors, energizing the body and causing an alarm to be issued by the action of the electric circuit. Note that a low voltage of 3V or less is sufficient for detecting the presence or absence of current, so there is no danger at all even if the conductor comes into direct contact with the human body.

(Effects) As described above, the blood leakage detection device of the present invention has sheet-like conductors attached to both sides of the flexible base material, so the blood leakage detection device can be bent and folded freely, allowing it to be easily applied to the human body. It is a compact device that can be installed optimally and is trouble-free because the blood leak detection circuit and blood leak detection body are integrated with a lead wire.
