However, these have poor adhesion to the affected area, and in particular, the former type cannot be left in the body after surgery because it is not bioabsorbable, and the latter type also has a tendency to absorb body fluids, blood, etc. There are problems such as it becoming glue-like and adhering to gloves and other surfaces during surgery.

On the other hand, as a hemostat material made of absorbable material,
No. 58-29105 discloses a surgical felt made of polyglycolic acid fibers, which is rigid because it is manufactured by heat molding, and has a dense surface structure that makes it difficult to adhere to the affected area.
It has drawbacks such as being highly irritating to the affected area and difficult to use because the molded product is so strong that it cannot be torn off by hand during surgery.

(Means for Solving the Problem) However, the present invention is a bioabsorbable fabric that is characterized by being constructed by overlapping a knitted or woven fabric made of bioabsorbable synthetic polymer fibers and a nonwoven fabric made of the same material. It is a gauze for sexual surgery, and as an example of its specific structure, it has a sandwich structure in which non-woven fabric is knitted on both sides and woven fabric is overlapped, the thickness of the non-woven fabric is 0.2 to 2.0 mm, and the density is 0.2 to 2.0 mm. of
This invention relates to a bioabsorbable surgical gauze characterized by having a weight in the range of 20 to 120 g/m 2 and being made of a nonwoven fabric made by needle-punching bioabsorbable synthetic polymer fibers.

That is, the present invention uses synthetic polymers such as polyglycolic acid, polylactide, polydioxanone, and polycaprolactone as raw materials, and can be used alone or in copolymerized form. Polyglycolic acid has particularly good absorbability. Spun to a fineness of 2 to 6 deniers, or knitted, woven, or non-woven fabrics that have been left to stand for a long time or have been heat-treated to become soft and deteriorated can be suitably used.

In addition, the knitting and weaving structure can be arbitrary, such as circular knitting such as single or double knitting, warp knitting such as tricotto, or woven fabrics such as plain, twill, and satin, but there are problems such as elasticity, fraying of the edges, curling, etc. Considering this, warp knitting is ideal. Further, the nonwoven fabric to be overlapped with this is preferably made by needle punching.

In addition, the knitting, woven fabric, and nonwoven fabric should not be completely closed, but should have porous regular voids. Thickness from 0.2 to m2 density
It is desirable that it be within the range of 2.0m/m. If it is below the lower limit, the thickness and voids will be too large and the hemostatic effect will be poor, and if it exceeds the upper limit, blood permeability and absorption will be extremely poor, resulting in the problem that it will come off the affected area.

When the hemostatic gauze obtained as described above was applied to the resected part of the liver of a white rabbit, it immediately had a hemostatic effect on the gradual bleeding. In particular, when the gauze was brought into contact to cover the part, it quickly adhered as blood was absorbed. It was fixed and remained in that state without floating or coming off.

When the incision was made on the 10th day after the operation and the area was observed, it was found that the hemostatic material used was almost completely decomposed and absorbed into the body, and no abnormality was observed in the affected area.

(Effects) As described above, the present invention works well during surgical operations, especially because blood, etc. diffuses into the gaps in the knitting and weaving, and coagulates quickly when the gaps are filled. It is thought that. Note that the coagulated blood decomposes after a few days and is absorbed into the body without leaving any damage.

The gauze of this invention is particularly effective for gradual bleeding that cannot be stopped by coagulation methods such as electrocautery, and can be applied in layers or more depending on the situation, and can be torn off by hand. This makes it possible to quickly respond to emergencies during surgery.

It can also be suitably applied to a joint in a blood vessel anastomosis, such as an end-to-end anastomosis or an end-to-end anastomosis, by wrapping it with a sash or wrapping it in parallel around the joint to stop bleeding.

That is, it is effective in stopping bleeding from parenchymal organs, and can be used in general surgical procedures, such as neurosurgery, gynecology, and other invasive patients.
In particular, it can be suitably used for liver and kidney surgery, and for the treatment of hemophilia.

In particular, in liver surgery, the present invention eliminates post-operative fever due to bacterial contamination, which conventionally occurs because bile discharged from the affected area cannot be removed through the hemostatic material.

Although the present invention has been specifically explained using polyglycolic acid as an example, it can also be applied to synthetic polymers such as polylactide, polydioxanone, and polycaprolactone, which are hydrolyzable and harmless to living organisms. Alone, or a copolymer of these, or cross-knitting using separately constructed fibers,
Application in mixed weave is also possible.
