Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of a ceramic photographic plate by arranging a backing plate on the rear side of a ceramic substrate where a photograph is formed by printing and interposing a flexible intermediate film between them to give a sandwich structure. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic photographic plate 10 has the sandwich structure where a substrate 12, a backing plate 16, and an intermediate film 14 are press- fitted to one another. An ordinary light-transmissive glass plate is used as the backing plate 16, and the intermediate film 14 is made of a rubber or resin flexible material, and the substrate 12 and the backing plate 16 are press-fitted to the intermediate film 14 by heating. Since this ceramic photographic plate 10 has the flexible intermediate film 14 sandwiched between the substrate 12 and the backing plate 16, broken pieces are not scattered around even if the substrate 12 is broken by hit of a stone or the other cause.

2. Description of the Related Art Ceramic photographic plates on which photographs are baked at high temperatures of 0.degree. C. or higher are known. The method for manufacturing this ceramic photographic plate is disclosed in detail in JP-A-1-112239, and a detailed explanation will be omitted here, but in brief, a photopolymer layer that reacts to ultraviolet rays is formed on a ceramic substrate. Then, a photographic original plate of each color plate is placed on top of it, exposed to ultraviolet rays, and only the exposed or non-exposed areas are cured, the other areas are left sticky, and pigment powder is sprinkled on top. The photopolymer layer is removed by evaporation or combustion by attaching it to the sticky part, then baking it in a kiln, and then printing only the pigment onto the substrate to form a photograph.

This ceramic photographic plate has been developed in recent years.
This ceramic photographic plate, the use of which is currently being studied, can of course be used for indoor displays, but since it has the advantages mentioned above, it is not suitable for use outdoors. For example, it is used for outdoor advertising lights, outdoor displays, etc. where its features can be best exhibited.

However, when this ceramic photographic plate is placed independently in a space away from a support such as a wall, that is, when placed with a space in front and behind the ceramic photographic plate, stones may hit the ceramic photographic plate. If this occurs, the ceramic photographic board will break and scatter into the surrounding area, and if there is a person underneath, there is a risk that the fragments may hit and injure someone.

In the present invention, the ceramic substrate, the para-kink plate, and the intermediate film can all have translucency such as transparent or translucent properties. In this case, the photo appears to stand out, and especially when the photo is printed using the method described above, the clarity of the photo is high, and the display effect, advertising effect, etc. is higher than before. It will be done.

Moreover, since the substrate 12 on which the photograph is baked is made of heat-resistant glass, that is, the photograph itself is a fired product, it has good storage stability and excellent weatherability, and not even a single color will fade. Therefore, the ceramic photographic board 10 maintains its beauty semi-permanently even when used indoors as well as outdoors.

Furthermore, when used outdoors, the ceramic photographic plate 10 of this example has a sandwich structure including the substrate 12 and the backing plate 16 with a flexible intermediate film 14 interposed therebetween, so it may be exposed to stones etc. Even if the board 12 breaks due to this, the pieces will not be scattered around. Therefore, even in a state or form where there is space before and after, the arrangement can be made with peace of mind. This significantly expands the range of uses for ceramic photographic plates, allowing them to be used in applications that were not previously possible.

Although two embodiments of the present invention have been described in detail below, the present invention can be constructed in other embodiments. For example, although heat-resistant glass is used as the substrate 12 in the above embodiment, it is also possible to use other materials such as a breast plate, a porcelain plate, or other ceramic materials. It is preferable to use a photosensitive material, and it is also possible to use an opaque material depending on the case. However, if an opaque material is used, a photograph will be printed on the surface of the substrate 12.
