Furthermore, building blocks made of hard materials such as wood or plastic pose a problem, as there is a risk of injury from children throwing them or bumping into them. On the other hand, materials made of flexible materials such as foams can deform to some extent but cannot maintain their shape, so they cannot be applied to a wide range of age groups.

[Means for solving the problems] The object of the present invention described above is achieved by the following configuration. In other words, it is a rod-shaped body that can substantially maintain its bent shape when the core material is bent, and is a rod or plate-shaped body in which a closed-cell foamed resin material is arranged around the core material. A foamed resin rod containing a core material, characterized in that the closed-cell foamed resin material has a different color and has a predetermined shape with the vertical cross section containing the core material of the rod or plate-shaped body as a boundary. Or it is a plate-like body.

In addition, the rod or plate-shaped body of the present invention is made by sandwiching a plurality of core materials with both ends fixed between two foamed resin sheets of different colors, bonding them with adhesive or heat-sealing them, and then cutting them. It is manufactured by grinding and polishing it into a predetermined shape. At this time, if a groove of the shape and size that matches the core material is formed in advance on at least one side of the foamed resin sheet, it is not necessary to fix the multiple core materials at both ends, and the core material can simply be placed on the groove. It is preferable that it can be arranged in .
