An embodiment of the present invention shown in the drawings will be described below. FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram of a banknote sorting device as a paper sheet sorting device. A banknote storage box 2 serving as a paper sheet separation section located on the upper right side of the machine body 1 is loaded with banknotes 3 in a mixed state regardless of front or back, top or bottom, and denomination. The banknotes 3 are fed out one by one from the front by a separation roller 4, and then conveyed while being nipped by a conveyance path 31 consisting of a belt, rollers, etc., and delivered to a discrimination section 5 (detection means) as a detection means. be done. In the identification department, the type of bank note 3, front and back,
Judgments are made regarding authenticity, skew, conveyance interval, etc., and the tickets are classified into genuine tickets (good tickets) and other rejected tickets (fail tickets). The bank note 3 that has been determined to be a rejected note by the discrimination section 5 is carried out to the conveyance path 32, where it is held and conveyed, and immediately before reaching the branch point 6a, the solenoid 40 is activated as shown in FIG. The gate 20 operates as shown by the solid line, so that it is delivered to the conveyance path 33. The tickets are then held and conveyed by the conveyance path 33 and reach the confluence point 7a, where they are piled up in a rejected ticket storage box 8 serving as a second accumulation section. In this way, rejected tickets that may later become abnormal sheets are sent directly to the second stacking section, thereby prohibiting them from being sent to the conveyance path 34 where the front and back reversal section is provided. Next, the banknotes determined by the discrimination section 5 to be genuine and genuine notes that can be classified are conveyed from the conveyance path 32 through the conveyance path 34 and the conveyance path 36 (first conveyance path), and then reach the confluence point 7b. The bank note 3 determined by the discrimination section 5 to be a genuine note and a counternote is conveyed while being held between the conveyance paths 32 and 34, and just before reaching the branch point 6b, the solenoid 41 is activated and the gate 21 is activated as shown by the chain line in FIG. As a result, the banknote 3 is guided to the conveyance path 35 (second conveyance path), and the banknote 3 is moved in the conveyance direction while being held and conveyed by the torsion belt 50 that constitutes a part of the conveyance path 35 shown in FIG. Rotate 180° perpendicular to
It becomes a front ticket and reaches the confluence point 7b. Here, since the conveyance path 35 and the conveyance path 36 have approximately the same length and are securely sandwiched between the belts, the front ticket can be removed by simply driving both the conveyance paths 35 and 36 at the same speed. , Even if the back notes are conveyed in succession, the conveyance intervals are the same, so the conveyance intervals of the banknotes 3 at the branching point 6b and the confluence point 7b are equal,
Subsequent processing of the banknotes 3 on the conveyance path becomes easy. Here, a torsion belt 50 is used as a reversing means.
Since this is used, the length of the conveyance path can be accurately determined, and the length can be accurately matched to the conveyance path 36. The bank note 3 that has reached the confluence point 7b is held and conveyed by the conveyance path 37 (third conveyance path), and is passed through solenoids 42, 43,
44, 45 is driven, one of the gates 22, 23, 24, 25 is operated accordingly, and the collection boxes 60, 61, 62, as the first collection predetermined for each denomination are activated. 63 with the specified banknote 3
is polymerized and accumulated. Since there is no abnormality in the conveyance interval of banknotes at the above-mentioned gate position, jamming of banknotes does not occur. The above has described the case where the banknote 3 is normally held and conveyed on the conveyance path after the discrimination section 5.
Depending on the state of the bank note 3, the banknote 3 determined to be a genuine note by the discrimination unit 5 may skew on the conveyance path after the discrimination unit 5, or a conveyance abnormality may occur in which the feeding interval of the banknote 3 is abnormal. be. Therefore, the terminal end of the conveyance path 37, which constitutes the final stage of the conveyance path, is extended so that the banknotes 3 held and conveyed by the conveyance path 37 can be accumulated in the rejected note storage box 8. Then, the end of the conveyance path 33 and the extended end of the conveyance path 37 meet at the confluence point 7a, and the banknotes 3 conveyed by the respective conveyance paths 33 and 37 are accumulated in the rejected note storage box 8. Do it like this. Note that the conveyance paths 33 and 37 do not need to merge, and the conveyed banknotes 3 may be accumulated in the rejected note storage box 8 independently. Further, although the conveyance paths 33 and 37 are arranged to meet at their ends, the end of one conveyance path may be configured to merge in the middle of the other conveyance path. By configuring the conveyance path in this way, the conveyance path 37
The transport path 37 is located in front of the collection box 60 of
A sensor 9 is installed as a detection means for detecting the conveyance state of the bank note 3 held and conveyed by the banknotes 3, such as skew and feed interval. Note that the position of the sensor 9 is not limited to this position, and can be installed at any position. The number is also arbitrary. In the case of the embodiment, when a conveyance abnormality occurs, the stacking parts 60, 61, 62, 63
Since banknotes 3 tend to jam at the positions of gates 22, 23, 24, and 25, the positions shown in the figure are set immediately before the first gate.

With this structure, when the above-mentioned conveyance abnormality occurs, the sensor 9 provided on the conveyance path 37 detects the skew and the interval, and if the conveyance exceeds a certain specified value, the gates 22, 23, 24 ,
25 should not be operated. In this way, the banknotes 3 are eventually conveyed through the conveyance path 37 and piled up in the rejected note accumulation box 8. In this case, the guide 1 is placed at the confluence point 7a as shown in FIG.
By providing 0, it is possible to further prevent the banknotes 3 from being jammed at the confluence point 7a even if the banknotes 3 are pinched and conveyed by the conveyance path 33 and the conveyance path 37, respectively. 11 is the bank note 3 in the rejected note collection box 8.
It is a guide that guides you smoothly.

In the above embodiments, a case has been described in which banknotes are classified and stacked by denomination, but it goes without saying that the present invention can also be applied to aligning the front and back sides of banknotes for payment. Furthermore, it goes without saying that the device of the present invention is not limited to banknotes, but can be applied to paper sheets in general.
