Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a large amount of deformation with a small working force to eliminate the need for a large-sized equipment by inserting a tube expanding jig from the outlet side of an extruding machine into the inside of the tube under a high temperature state directly after extruding in the metallic extruded tube extruded from the extruding machine. CONSTITUTION:A stem 2 is advanced to extrude the tube A to be extruded, after extruding by a prescribed length, then, a tube expanding jig 6 is advanced to the direction of a die 4 and its tip is inserted into the opening part of the tube end of the extruded tube. The tube expanding jig is advanced further and the extruded tube is deformed in a tapered state after the outer shape of the tube expanding head part 6a. The extruded tube keeps a high temperature state directly after it is extruded and is made easy to deform, therefore, the extruded tube can be deformed easily by a small advancing force given to the tube expanding jig. As a result, the manufacturing time of the formed part is reduced and the productivity can be improved.

[0003] Conventionally, the above-described forming process involving plastic deformation of an extruded metal tube was performed as a separate process after the extrusion process was completed. For example, aluminum hollow extrusion material,
When molding into a shape with a tapered expansion section in the length direction, after the extrusion process is finished, the extruded material is subjected to T1 treatment, annealed, and then expanded into a tapered shape by inserting a tube expansion jig into the extruded tube from the tube end. After deformation, solution treatment and aging treatment were sequentially performed.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] However, in this method, since the molding process is performed after the extrusion process is completed, it takes a long time from extrusion to the end of the molding process, resulting in poor productivity and increased costs. There was a drawback. In addition, heat treatment steps such as annealing and solution treatment to facilitate deformation have to be required, further accelerating deterioration of productivity and increase in costs. Furthermore, there is a problem in that the deformation resistance of the extruded tube is large during tube expansion, and therefore the equipment has to be enlarged.

That is, the present invention is characterized in that an extruded metal tube extruded from an extruder is expanded by inserting a tube expansion jig into the tube from the exit side of the extruder while it is in a high temperature state immediately after extrusion. The main subject of this paper is a method for expanding metal extruded pipes.

[Operation] In the high temperature state immediately after extrusion, the extruded tube itself is easily deformed due to the heat. Utilizing this state, the tube is expanded and deformed by a tube expansion jig inserted into the tube from the exit side of the extruder, so that the tube expansion and deformation process is performed in parallel with the extrusion process. Furthermore, annealing treatment to facilitate deformation is not required, and a product with the same properties as a normal extruded tube can be obtained by cooling as is after molding, so solution treatment can also be omitted. Furthermore, since the tube is expanded while it is still at high temperature, a large deformation can be applied with a small external force, and the equipment can be small.

Effects of the Invention As described above, the present invention utilizes the high temperature state immediately after extrusion to expand and deform the extruded tube by inserting a tube expansion jig into the inside of the tube while it is easily deformed.
The tube expansion step can be performed simultaneously with the extrusion step, and the tube expansion step, which is conventionally performed separately after extrusion, can be made unnecessary. Therefore, the manufacturing time of the molded product can be shortened and productivity can be improved. Further, since heat treatment steps such as annealing for facilitating plastic deformation can be made unnecessary, production efficiency can be further improved. Furthermore, since the tube expansion operation is performed immediately after extrusion at a high temperature and while the deformation resistance is low, a large amount of deformation can be obtained with a small processing force, and the inconvenience of increasing the size of equipment due to the generation of large processing force can be eliminated.
