Abstract

PURPOSE:To make an insertion operation efficient without relying on the ability of an operator and to enhance its quality by a method wherein an insertion-position instruction means and a means to output information for distinguishing a component are provided and an operation instruction is given to the operator by means of an image or a sound. CONSTITUTION:A printed-circuit board 5 is placed on a component insertion apparatus main body 1; a starting switch 4 is closed; a control apparatus 9 is actuated; and an electronic component to be inserted into a component sorting means 2 is selected by means of the instruction of the control apparatus 9. Then, an operator takes out the component, catches a component No. instructed by a sound output means 8 and compares it with the component. At this time, when the component No. of the taken- out component coincides with the instructed component No., the image of a component shape is output to an image output means 7 and the insertion direction of the component is confirmed. The component is inserted so as to match a component arrangement mark 6 which is instructed by an insertion-position instruction means 3 and which is printed on the printed circuit board 5. When the insertion operation of all components is not completed, the above operation is repeated from the beginning and an electronic circuit board is produced. Thereby, it is possible to prevent that the component is inserted erroneously.

As described above, by using a robot as the insertion position indicating means, the illuminance on the printed circuit board can be increased.
In addition to making it easier to confirm the component placement mark, it also compensates for the drawback of the first embodiment in which light is blocked when pointing to a component placement mark adjacent to an already inserted component. Since the video output means is always located at the top of the screen, work efficiency can be further improved.
