As a joint structure for the backrest of a chair, for example, US Pat. A device is disclosed in which a plurality of engagement holes are provided and the back cushion material is overlapped with the support frame so that the engagement protrusions are individually fitted into the engagement holes and fixed. The engagement protrusion used in this joint structure is
A bulge is provided at the tip of the shaft inserted into the engagement hole, and a split groove is provided in the shaft, and when the engagement protrusion is inserted into the engagement hole,
The shaft portions on both sides of the split groove are elastically deformed in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction, and the split groove narrows, so the bulge passes through the engagement hole, and after fitting, the split groove returns to its original groove width. The bulge is configured to engage with the peripheral edge of the engagement hole. Such an engaging protrusion is also disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Application No. 54-119805.

In such a conventional joining structure, although the shaft portions on both sides of the split groove can be easily fitted into the engagement hole by utilizing elastic deformation of the shaft portions, it is difficult to fit the engagement protrusion into the engagement hole. When a strong pull-out force is applied to the engagement protrusion after both members are joined together, the bulge of the engagement protrusion is strongly pressed against the periphery of the engagement hole in the pull-out direction, causing the split groove to There was a problem in that the shaft portions on both sides were elastically deformed in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction, thereby narrowing the split groove, and the bulging portion was likely to pass through the engagement hole and slip out.

This idea was made in view of the above problems, and it is possible not only to connect both members reliably and firmly, but also to prevent the two members from engaging even if a strong pulling force is applied to the engaging protrusion after they are joined. It is an object of the present invention to provide a joining structure between members in which the shaft portion of a mating protrusion is difficult to slip out of an engaging hole.

The joining structure of members of this invention is a joining structure of members in which one member and the other member are joined by overlapping each other, and an engaging protrusion protrudes from the overlapping surface of one member. The engagement protrusion is fitted into an engagement hole provided in the other member, and the engagement protrusion has an engagement projection that extends in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the shaft and is engaged with the peripheral edge of the engagement hole. A mating surface is formed on the shaft portion, and a split groove is formed on the shaft portion leaving a part of the shaft center portion, and the remaining portion of the shaft center portion where the split groove is not formed is formed in the split groove. It is inclined with respect to the groove width direction.

According to the joint structure of this invention, the remaining part of the shaft center portion where the split groove is not formed tries to keep the groove width of the split groove constant due to its elasticity. Furthermore, when a pull-out force is applied to the engagement protrusion and the engagement surface is pressed against the peripheral edge of the engagement hole, the remaining portions prevent the shaft portions on both sides of the split groove from elastically deforming in the right angle direction;
The shaft portions on both sides of the split groove are shifted in opposite directions while narrowing the groove width of the split groove. Therefore, the engagement width between the engagement surface and the peripheral edge of the engagement hole increases in the direction of displacement of each shaft portion on both sides of the split groove, and the retaining force increases accordingly.

According to such a configuration, by overlapping the overlapping surface 4 of the back cushion material 2 provided with the engaging holes 6 with the overlapping surface 3 of the back plate 1 provided with the engaging projections 5, the engaging projections 5 can be press-fitted into the engagement hole 6. At that time, the tip guide surface 14 of the engagement projection 5 is pushed along the tapered guide receiving surface 23 of the engagement hole forming member 18, and accordingly, the remaining portion 31 is perpendicular to the axial direction of the shaft portion 11. Since the shaft portions 11, 11 on both sides of the split groove 15, which are prevented from being displaced in the direction in which the split groove 15 is displaced, shift in opposite directions while narrowing the groove width of the split groove 15, the engagement groove portion 13 of the engagement protrusion 5 becomes elastic. It is deformed and reduced in diameter, and is easily fitted into the engagement hole 6. When the engagement groove part 13 is fitted into the engagement hole 6, the restoring force of the shaft parts 11, 11 on both sides of the split groove 15 returns them to their original state, and the groove width of the split groove 15 returns to its original dimension. The engaging surface 12b engages with the peripheral edge of the engaging hole 6, and the back plate 1 and the back cushion material 2 are joined together. At this time, the elasticity of the remaining portion 31 helps the shaft portions 11, 11 return to their original states, so that the engagement surface 12b and the peripheral edge of the engagement hole 6 shown in FIG. The mating width H 1 becomes uniform in the circumferential direction of the engagement groove 13, and sufficient retaining force is exerted. After being joined in this way, when a pulling force is applied to the engagement protrusion 5 and the engagement surface 12b is pressed against the peripheral edge of the engagement hole 6, the remaining portion 31 causes the split groove 15 to
The shaft parts 11, 11 on both sides of the split groove 15 are prevented from elastically deforming in the right angle direction, and as shown in FIG. The position shifts to Therefore, the engagement width between the engagement surface 12 and the peripheral edge of the engagement hole 6 is
H 2 increases in the direction of displacement of the respective shaft portions 11, 11 on both sides of the split groove 15, and accordingly, the retaining force increases, and a reliable retaining action is exerted. Note that the dish-shaped head 10 of the engagement protrusion forming member 9
is covered with a decorative cover 7, so it is not exposed externally.

The engaging protrusion 5 is formed to protrude from the overlapping surface 3 without any problem. For example, by overlapping the overlapping surface 4 of the back cushion material 2 shown in FIG. 9
It is to be joined as shown in the figure. Therefore, the engaging protrusion forming member 9 is not exposed at all.

As explained above, according to this invention, by overlapping one member and the other member, the engaging protrusion can be inserted into the engaging hole without any particular difficulty, and the engaging surface can be aligned with the periphery of the engaging hole. The two members are securely joined together. In other words, in this bonded state, the restoring force of the shaft parts on both sides of the split groove returns them to their original state and the width of the split groove expands to its original dimension. The elasticity of the remaining portion that is not provided helps the shaft portion return to its original state, and the engagement width between the engagement surface and the peripheral edge of the engagement hole becomes uniform in the circumferential direction of the engagement groove. This will provide sufficient retaining force. In addition, when a pull-out force is applied to the engagement protrusion and the engagement surface is pressed against the periphery of the engagement hole after both members are joined, the shafts on both sides of the split groove narrow the width of the split groove. Since the split grooves are misaligned in opposite directions in directions that are not orthogonal to the groove width direction, the engagement width between the engagement surface and the peripheral edge of the engagement hole increases at a predetermined location, increasing the retaining force. There is.
