Hereinafter, specific examples will be explained with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a conventional corona discharger, in which 1 is a housing, 2 is a discharge wire, 3 is a plug, 4 is a spring that applies a tensile force to the wire, 5 is a handle, and 6 is electrically connected to the plug 3. It's futsuku. In the figure, the plug 3 is in contact with an outlet (not shown) in the main body, and is configured so that corona discharge occurs in the wire 2 when a high voltage is applied to the outlet.

The conventional corona discharger has the above-mentioned configuration,
Toner adhesion to the inner wall of the housing 1 was unavoidable. If a large amount of the above-mentioned toner or other substance adheres to the inside of the housing 1, uneven discharge or the like will occur, and a streak-like image will appear on the copied image, making the image unsightly. For this reason, the corona discharger must be cleaned every time a certain number of copies are made. When removing adhered substances such as toner that have adhered to the inside of the housing 1, the corona discharger must be removed from the image forming apparatus main body and cleaned. Further, this work must be done with care so as not to cut the wire 2, which imposes a considerable burden on the cleaning worker. As described above, the occurrence of deposits within the housing of the corona discharger is one of the obstacles to making the image forming apparatus maintenance-free.

Components common to the conventional device described above are designated by the same numbers. In FIG. 3, 18 is a metal foil member (for example, aluminum foil, stainless steel foil, etc.) provided as a toner adsorption section. The metal foil member 18 is held by the driving roller 8 on one side and the driven roller 14 on the other side. That is, the metal foil member is provided so as to extend along the corona discharge wire so as to surround the corona discharge wire, and is movable endlessly. When the drive roller 8 rotates in the direction of the arrow due to the rotation of the motor 7 connected to the drive roller 8, the metal foil member 18 is configured to rotate in the direction of the arrow. Further, the driven roller 14 is rotatably supported on a support plate 16. Springs 15 and 17 are attached to the support plate 16 as shown in the figure, and the metal foil member 1
A constant tension is applied over the longitudinal direction of 8.
This prevents the metal foil member 18 from sagging. In the figure, 10, 11, 12, 13 are metal foil members 1
8 is a cleaner for cleaning the inner surface facing the corona discharge wire, 11 and 13 are cleaning members, and 10 and 12 are supporting members thereof. Motor 7 receives power via plug 9. The plug 9 is configured to come into contact with an outlet (not shown) on the main body side when the corona discharger is assembled into the main body of the image forming apparatus. Further, 25 is a housing of a corona discharger.

floating toner is absorbed. As mentioned above, the cleaning member 1 is provided on the inner surface of the metal foil member 18.
1 and 13 are in contact with each other, substances such as toner adhering to the inside of the metal foil member 18 are scraped off, and the inside surface of the metal foil member 18 is always kept clean and the adsorption effect is always exhibited. I can do it.

The rotational speed (rpm) of this motor 7 may be selected to be the most efficient rotational speed for cleaning the metal foil member 18. Furthermore, by appropriately selecting the outer diameters of the driving roller 8 and the driven roller 14, the most efficient discharge width (C in FIG. 4) can be used in corona discharge.

A hook 6' for tensioning the discharge wire is fixed on the substrate block 60. The hook 6' is configured to be electrically connected to the plug 3 through a path as shown in FIG. 5, which is a partial sectional view taken along line Y--Y in FIG.
By forming the conductive path three-dimensionally in this way, the motor 7 and the drive roller 8 can be placed at the most appropriate location.

Reference numeral 23 in FIG. 6 is a driving roller, which is configured to be rotated by a handle 24. 22 is a driven roller, 21 is a support plate, and 19 and 20 are springs. A constant tensile force is applied to the metal foil member 18 by these members as in the case explained in FIG. 3. Also, cleaner members 11, 1 for cleaning the inner surface of the metal foil member are provided as in the example shown in FIG.
3 and its supporting members 10 and 12 are attached, and when the drive roller 23 is rotated in the direction of the arrow by the handle 24, the metal foil member 18 is rotated in the direction of the arrow and the inner surface of the metal foil member 18 is rotated. The cleaning members 11 and 13 that are in contact with each other are configured to remove substances such as toner on the metal foil member. Further, in addition to providing a motor in the corona discharger itself and driving the drive roller 8 by the motor as in the embodiment shown in FIG. A similar effect can be obtained by driving the drive roller 8.
