2. Description of the Related Art In a conventional still image videophone device that transmits and receives still image signals and makes a call while viewing the displayed still image, the camera and display unit are connected to a telephone line by wire, for example. When it becomes necessary to move this device, the range of movement is limited by the length of the connection cord and other factors. However, if the connection cord is unnecessarily long, it will get in the way when movement is not required. For this reason, it would be convenient if a still image videophone device could be used while moving, like the "cordless telephones" that have become popular in recent years, and the emergence of such a device has been desired.

Next, the operation of the cordless video telephone device according to the present invention will be explained. First, the case of receiving a still image will be explained. Input/output section 1 of fixed section A from telephone line 2
A call signal is input to the In response to this signal, via the control unit 8, the idle line discriminating unit 5 discriminates an idle line from the call channel set for transmitting and receiving the cordless telephone, and the transmitting/receiving unit 3 via the control unit 8 For example, 380 MHz (M
Hz) band and transmits it from the antenna 4. This high frequency signal is received by the transmitter/receiver section 11 via the antenna 12 of the mobile section B, demodulated into a calling signal, transmitted to the telephone set 16 via the line switching section 14, and rings the bell. When the telephone 16 goes off-hook, the code generating section 23 outputs the identification code of the own mobile section via the control section 15, and the transmitting/receiving section 11 outputs the identification code of the idle line, for example, 250M.
It is converted into a high frequency signal in the Hz band and transmitted from the antenna 12. This high frequency signal is received and demodulated by the transmitting/receiving section 3 via the antenna 4 of the fixed section A, and then sent to the identifying section 6 via the control section 6.
is identified as a predetermined code, and as a result, the fixed part A
It becomes possible to transmit and receive still image signals and the like between the mobile unit B and the mobile unit B, and a response signal is sent to the telephone line 2 from the input/output unit 1 via the control unit 8.

The still image signal input from the telephone line 2 in response to the response signal is converted into a high frequency signal in the 380 MHz band by the transmitting/receiving section 3, and then sent to the antenna 4 and the antenna 12.
The signal is then received by the transmitting/receiving section 11 and demodulated into a still image signal. Then, the still image identification signal provided at the beginning of this still image signal is detected by the still image identification signal detection section 13. Based on this detection signal, the line switching unit 1
4 is activated, the line is switched, and the still image signal is input to the image demodulation/storage section 17. Image storage/demodulation section 1
7 processes the image information signal of the input still image signal based on a control signal inputted next to the still image identification signal, demodulates it into a television signal, and stores one screen worth of signal. The stored still image signal is input to the display section 19 via the image switching section 18 that operates based on the signal from the still image signal detection section 13, and the image is displayed. Transmission of still image signals according to the TTC standard method requires approximately 6 seconds for one screen of black and white images, and during this time the telephone 16 is disconnected from the line. When the reception of the still image signal is completed, the line switching unit 1
4, the line is switched to the telephone 16 side, so the caller can talk while viewing the still image displayed on the display section 19. This display displays a still image of the television signal that is repeatedly read out from the image demodulation/storage section 17 until the image switching section 16 is switched by operating an image switching button (not shown) or the like.

[0010] When transmitting a still image of the caller, operate the image switching button or the like to activate the image switching section 18;
An image of the caller captured by the camera 20 is displayed on the display unit 19. Note that if the image switching button is operated again, the screen on the display section 19 returns to the previous screen. Now, check the image of yourself or the like displayed on the display section 19 and press an image confirmation button (not shown). As a result, the video signal from the camera 20 at this time is stored in the image storage/modulation section 21 for one screen. This memory is cleared by operating the image confirmation button again and replaced with the video signal of the new image. In order to transmit this video signal to the other party of the call, the image sending operation unit 22 is operated. This operation causes the line switching unit 14 to
is activated, the line is switched to the image storage/modulation section 21 side, and the still image identification signal, control signal, and image information signal based on the TTC standard method are output from the image storage/modulation section 21 that operates in response to this switching. The signal is sequentially modulated into a predetermined still image signal of 1748 Hz, etc., and transmitted through the transmitting/receiving section 11 to a 250 MHz signal.
The signal is converted into a high-frequency signal of the band, and is transmitted from the antenna 12 toward the fixed part A.

Next, the case where a still image is first transmitted from the portable unit B will be explained. First, the telephone 16 is taken off-hook. As a result, the code generation section 23 outputs the identification code and call request code of the mobile section B, and the same as above is sent.
It is converted into a high frequency signal in the 250 MHz band via the receiving section 11 and transmitted to the fixed section B. In the fixed part B, the identification part 6 identifies this identification code by comparing it with the data read out from the memory part 7, and the free line discrimination part 5 discriminates the free call line, and this line is connected to the mobile part B. Assigned for calls. The subsequent operations are the same as those for transmitting the image of the caller, so the explanation will be omitted.
