In the fields of civil engineering and construction, which are rapidly progressing, there is a strong demand for development that improves the reliability of reinforcing joints, simplifies work, shortens construction times, and improves the safety of structures. In order to meet this demand, reinforcing bars with patterns added to them, such as irregularly shaped threaded reinforcing bars, for the purpose of increasing the degree of adhesion between concrete and reinforcing bars, have been developed and are now in widespread use.

By the way, the above-mentioned reinforcing bars have a limit in length and are also limited in terms of transportation, so it is necessary to splice them at the site in order to fit them into the structure.

In general, reinforcing steel joints include lap joints, welding, screw joints, etc., but all of these methods have problems in workability. In addition, for joints of irregularly shaped threaded reinforcing bars, a locking nut tightening joint is used, in which a threaded coupler is screwed into the ends of a pair of reinforcing bars, and a locking nut screwed into the reinforcing bars in advance is tightened on both sides of the threaded coupler to connect the pair of reinforcing bars. However, in the case of such a joint, the rotation resistance of the lock nut is large, so a special high-torque tool is required to rotate it, and furthermore, after the coupler and one lock nut are tightened, If the other lock nut is tightened, the coupler may rotate in the opposite direction and become loose. Also, if the lock nuts on both sides are tightened at the same time, the bonding force will not be constant, and since the lock nuts rotate around the reinforcing bars, there will be many problems such as difficulty in tightening the lock nuts when the spacing between adjacent reinforcing bars is narrow. There are drawbacks.

In order to achieve the above object, this invention provides a cylindrical coupler with a female thread formed on the inner surface, a penetrating wedge insertion hole that intersects with the axis, a wedge in the wedge insertion hole, and at least one of the wedges. A push plate placed on one side is inserted, and the coupler is screwed into the ends of the pair of threaded reinforcing bars to abut the end faces of the reinforcing bars against the push plate, and then a screw provided at the end of the wedge is inserted. A tightening nut is screwed into the shaft portion, and by tightening the tightening nut, the wedge is moved in the axial direction and the push plate is moved laterally,
The push plate moves the reinforcing bars in the axial direction to increase the contact friction force between the screws of the threaded reinforcing bars and the female threads of the coupler.

In addition, a tip is provided at the tip of the screw shaft via a neck that breaks when a set torque is applied, and the tightening of the tightening nut is completed when the tip breaks, so that the tightening force of the tightening nut is always constant. That's what I did.

The joint shown in the embodiment has the above structure, and this joint is made by inserting the wedge 10 and the pair of push plates 20 into the wedge insertion hole 3 of the coupler 1 before connecting the pair of reinforcing bars. It may be assembled in advance by fitting the washer 13 onto the screw shaft portion 12 and screwing in the tightening nut 14, or after screwing the coupler 1 into the ends of the pair of reinforcing bars.
Insert the wedge 10 and the pair of push plates 20 into the wedge insertion hole 3, and insert the screw shaft portion 1 of the wedge 10.
It is also possible to fit the washer 13 to the holder 2 and screw the tightening nut 14.

Now, screw the coupler 1 onto the ends of the pair of reinforcing bars 30, 30, and insert the wedge insertion hole 3 of the coupler 1.
A reinforcing bar 3 is placed on the surface of a pair of push plates 20 inserted in advance into the
After aligning the end faces of 0, screw shaft 1 of wedge 10.
When the tightening nut 14 screwed into the wedge 1 is tightened, the wedge 10 moves in the axial direction.
A pair of push plates 20 arranged on both sides of the wedge 10 move in a direction intersecting with the moving direction of the wedge 10.
Therefore, the pair of reinforcing bars 30 move away from each other, the play between the threaded bar 32 of the reinforcing bar 30 and the female thread 2 of the coupler 1 is eliminated, and the axial direction between the threaded bar 32 and the female thread 2 is eliminated. The contact pressure becomes stronger, and the pair of reinforcing bars 30 can be firmly connected.

When tightening the tightening nut 14, the outer socket that grips the tightening nut 14 and the tip 1
An electric wrench is used, which is equipped with an inner socket for gripping the bolt 6, and both sockets rotate differentially, that is, a torque shear wrench used for tightening a torque shear bolt. When tightening the tightening nut 14 using this electric wrench,
After tightening the tightening nut 14 by a predetermined amount, the tip 16
is broken from the neck portion 15. Therefore, the tightening force of the tightening nut 13 is kept constant, and the bonding force between the coupler 1 and the reinforcing bar 30 is always kept constant.

In the embodiments shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, the openings at both ends of the wedge insertion hole 3 formed in the coupler 1 were made to have the same size, but as shown in FIG. 4, the openings were made to have different sizes. Good too. As shown in FIG. 4, if the opening sizes of the wedge insertion hole 3 are made different, the pair of push plates 20 inserted into the wedge insertion hole 3 from the opening on the larger diameter side can be received on the inner surface of the coupler 1. It is possible to prevent the pair of push plates 20 from slipping out of the wedge insertion hole 3 during rotation of the tightening nut 14, and the tightening operation of the nut 14 can be carried out efficiently.

In general, the end faces of the reinforcing bars 30 are often not flat, and if the flat surface of the push plate 20 is pressed against the end face of such reinforcing bars, the push plate 20 will not sit properly.
It is preferable to form a depression such as a groove on the surface of the push plate 20 corresponding to the reinforcing bars 30, or to provide a bulge to reduce the contact area with the reinforcing bars so that the push plate 20 can settle down.

Furthermore, in the case of the embodiment, both side surfaces of the wedge 10 are sloped surfaces, but the shape of the wedge 10 is not limited to this, and a wedge with only one side surface sloped can be adopted, and in this case, one side surface is sloped. The push plate 20 can be omitted.

As described above, in this invention, when the wedge is moved in the axial direction by rotating the nut screwed onto the threaded shaft of the wedge, the push plate placed on the side of the wedge is moved laterally. Since the threaded reinforcing bar screwed into the coupler is pressed in the axial direction, the female thread of the coupler and the reinforcing bar come into pressure contact in the axial direction, making it possible to reliably connect the coupler and the reinforcing bar, and also to tighten the tightening nut. Since the wedge is moved in the axial direction by tightening, there is no impact on the coupler or threaded reinforcing bars, and these parts will not be damaged or deformed. In addition, since the axial movement of the wedge is converted into the lateral movement of the push plate to press the reinforcing bars in the axial direction, it is possible to connect the reinforcing bars and couplers strongly, and to tighten them when connecting the reinforcing bars. The force required to rotate the nut is small, and reinforcing bars can be connected efficiently.

Furthermore, when tightening a tightening nut using an electric wrench that has an outer socket and an inner socket, if the torque acting on the neck exceeds the set torque, the tip will break and the tightening work will be completed, so it will be difficult to tighten the nut. The tightening force of the nut is constant, the coupler and the threaded reinforcing bar can always be connected with a constant bonding force, and a highly reliable connection can be obtained.
