Conventional white balance circuits for in-vehicle cameras work to match high-brightness, low-chroma subjects with white, but when photographing a subject with few high-brightness, low-chroma parts, such as a road surface, for example, orange Sometimes the colored road paint is judged to be white, causing the entire screen to appear blueish. Furthermore, since the subject changes rapidly while driving, the white balance constantly changes due to the road paint and buildings on the edge of the road, making the screen very difficult to view.

A white balance control circuit that automatically controls the balance from the subject, and a sampling circuit that allows the output of the white balance control circuit to be passed through or held.
The present invention is characterized by comprising a hold circuit and a control circuit that puts the sampling and hold circuit in a hold state depending on the presence or absence of a signal from the vehicle speed detection means.

FIG. 2(a) shows a method in which the vehicle speed signal is converted into a voltage using the vehicle speedometer 16 as the vehicle speed detection unit 15, and FIG. (c) is a method in which acceleration is determined using an acceleration sensor 17 using, for example, a piezo element 18, and the speed is determined by integrating the acceleration with an integrating circuit 19.

It becomes the pulse itself. Here, if the pulse interval of the S/H signal is made sufficiently faster than the response speed of the white balance control circuit 9,
The sampling and holding circuits 11 and 12 pass the output of the white balance control circuit 9 as is.

When it exceeds this, the output of the comparator 14 becomes L level, the output of the AND gate 13 also always becomes L level, and the sampling/holding circuits 11 and 12 enter the hold state and continue to hold the output level at that time. At this time, the hold time constants of the sampling and holding circuits 11 and 12 are made sufficiently long.

As a result, the white balance does not change unnecessarily and a high-quality image capture screen can be obtained. Furthermore, since the configuration is relatively simple, it can be realized without major changes to conventional circuits.
