Abstract

PURPOSE:To digitize the degree of the smell of a packing material for a cylindrical liquid container by substituting the gas in the packing material an putting the inside of the packing material into a hermetic state, then uniformizing the atmosphere in the packing material by a stirring means and measruting the smell in the packing material. CONSTITUTION:Both ends of the packing material 60 for the cylindrical liquid container are opened and hermetic plates 11, 12 cover both ends of the packing material 60 from both sides. Measurement is made in this state. Pure air is passed in the packing material 60 prior to the start of the measurement to substitute the internal air. The respective hermetic plates 11, 12 are provided with plural pieces of air holes 20 for the above-mentioned purpose. The air is blasted from the air holes 20 of the one hermetic plate 11 toward the inside of the packing material 60 at the time of blasting the pure air. The hermetic plate 11 is provided with a fan 30 and the hermetic plate 12 is provided with a semiconductor gas sensor element 40. The atmosphere in the packing material 60 is uniformized in this way and the smell in the packing material 60 is measured.
