(Prior art and problems to be solved) Cultured pearls can be produced by using a section of the mantle and the core material of the pearl in pearl oysters, white oysters, black oysters, mabe, abalone, oyster oysters, crow oysters, brown oysters, and oyster oysters. It is produced by artificially inserting it into the mother mollusc of shellfish, snail shellfish, etc. Currently, the shells of bivalves such as the brown oyster, which have almost the same composition as nacre, are mainly used as the core material for pearls. The shell is polished to make its surface smooth and then inserted. Enucleation surgery to insert the nucleus is mainly performed from April to July, but depending on the physiological state of the oyster, the enucleation surgery, sea conditions, weather conditions, etc., the harvest of cultured pearls may occur, such as prolapse or death of the oyster. The rate and quality of pearls are greatly affected. Furthermore, it is said that the bivalve shells that are mainly used today produce pearls with high commercial value at a low rate, and the yield is low compared to the labor of pearl cultivators.

In order to increase the rate of production of pearls with high commercial value, the present inventors focused on nuclei that can be artificially manipulated, and as a result of research,
For the pearl sac epithelial cells that form the nacreous layer of pearls, their state of formation and initial junction with the nucleus are extremely important. We have discovered that the above problems can be solved by forming a film of the specific substance described below,
The invention has been completed.

Collagen is acid-soluble collagen extracted from various animals such as cows, rats, and mice, as well as birds and fish, or atelocollagen that is solubilized by treating insoluble collagen from these animals with enzymes such as pepsin. , or collagen solubilized by alkali treatment. It is difficult to use atelocollagen, which has less antigenicity and other irritation. As the gelatin, one of general reagent grade or one produced by thermally denaturing the above-mentioned collagen is used. In the present invention, collagen or gelatin is dissolved in water and used at a concentration of 0.01.
It is in the range of ~1%. Further, collagen and gelatin may be used alone or in combination.

In the present invention, a coating of a mixture of collagen or gelatin and an antibiotic is provided on the nuclear surface by coating the nuclear surface with a mixed solution of collagen or gelatin and an antibiotic. At this time, the ratio of antibiotic to collagen or gelatin varies depending on the efficacy of the antibiotic used, but is preferably 0.1 to 20 times the amount.

By forming a coating of a mixture of collagen or gelatin and antibiotics on the nuclear surface, the inserted mantle section quickly forms a pearl sac and inhibits the secretion of non-nacreous secretions such as the organic layer and the trabecular layer. By suppressing this as much as possible, normal nacre begins to be secreted toward the nucleus, and the denucleation rate and mortality rate of the mother oyster can be reduced by the antibacterial action of antibiotics. In particular, in the present invention, by providing a coating consisting of collagen or gelatin and an antibiotic, the collagen or gelatin acts as a carrier for the antibiotic and gradually releases the antibiotic. Compared to when used alone, its antibacterial action can be sustained for a longer period of time, and therefore the denucleation rate and the mortality rate of mother molluscs can be further improved.

This can be done with Freund Sangyo Co., Ltd. (trade name: Hi-Coater). The conditions for the coating treatment are not particularly limited, but the coating treatment is performed so that a coating of a mixture of collagen or gelatin and antibiotics is formed on the surface of the nucleus to a thickness of 0.005 μm or more. The coated nucleus is inserted into the mother shell.

Moreover, the effects of the present invention can be enhanced by subjecting the film on the surface of the coated core to crosslinking treatment. The crosslinking treatment can be carried out, for example, by ultraviolet irradiation (e.g. wavelength 253.7

In addition, the present invention allows the shell to be attached directly to the inner surface of the shell with an adhesive, or by making a hole in the outer surface of the shell and inserting the nucleus from the outside into the mother shell. It can also be applied to nuclei for culturing half-shaped pearls or three-quarter pearls. These nuclei have various shapes such as hemispherical, spherical, droplet, and heart-shaped. (Effects of the Invention) In the present invention, the surface of the nucleus to be inserted into the mother oyster for producing cultured pearls is coated with a mixture of collagen or gelatin and antibiotics, so the nucleus can be inserted into the mother oyster through surgery. Even when inserted, damage to the organs of the mother mollusk is kept to a minimum, and the damaged body recovers quickly, so the denucleation rate and the mortality rate of the mother mollusk are reduced. In addition, pearl sac epithelial cells with good formation are produced and the initial bonding with the pattern is good, making it possible to produce cultured pearls of high quality and high commercial value. In addition, since collagen or gelatin releases antibiotics in a sustained manner, the antibacterial action of the antibiotics lasts for a long period of time. Therefore, according to the present invention, high quality pearls can be produced at a high yield.
