Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent blinding of pellets for collecting particulates in exhaust gas by rotating rotary vanes with a flow of the exhaust gas, and rotating a case to which the rotary vanes are attached, and stirring multiple pellets housed inside the case. CONSTITUTION:Multiple pellets 32 for collecting particulates in exhaust gas are housed inside a case 31. A front surface 33 and a rear surface of the case 31 facing to the flowing direction X of the exhaust gas are respectively formed with wire gauze finer than the pellets 32. Furthermore, a rotary shaft 34 is attached along an axis of the case 31, while rotary vanes 35 are fixed on a rotary shaft 34 to be arranged in front of the case 31. The rotary vanes 35 are rotated with a flow of the exhaust gas, while the case 31 integral with the rotary vanes 35 is rotated in the Y direction with the rotary shaft 34. The pellets 32 are thereby stirred, while the particulates in the exhaust gas collected by the pellets 32 are moved to prevent blinding the pellets 32.

Diesel engines generally contain soot, mainly composed of unburned carbon particles, in their exhaust gas, and depending on the operating conditions, large amounts of this soot are generated and emitted into the atmosphere as black smoke. - Together with toxic emissions such as carbon oxide (CO) and nitrogen oxides (NOX), they are a cause of air pollution. For this reason, recently, a filtration device such as a filter is installed in the middle of the exhaust pipe of a diesel engine to collect soot in the exhaust gas, thereby reducing the amount of soot released into the atmosphere.

For example, Japanese Patent Publication No. 63-60212 discloses such a soot collection device, and as shown in FIG. A burner 4 is provided on the upstream side of the filter in the filter housing facing the filter 3, and this burner 4 includes a fuel pump 5 for pressure-feeding fuel from a diesel engine fuel tank (not shown) to the burner 4, and a fuel pump 5 for combustion. An air pump 6 that supplies air is connected, and the burner operation is controlled by a control circuit 7.In a collection device using such a pellet-type filter, the soot collected by the filter during use Due to clogging, the pressure loss in the filter becomes large, which increases the exhaust resistance of the diesel engine and adversely affects engine performance. Tsuyuel Pump 5
The air pump 6 is driven, and the ignition device ignites the burner 4 to inject flame toward the filter 3, heating the filter 3 and burning the collected soot to regenerate the filter 3. . During filter regeneration, a switching valve 8 provided at the filter inlet of the exhaust pipe is switched by a signal from a control circuit 7 to release exhaust gas from the engine to a bypass passage 9.

As mentioned above, since the conventionally known collection device reuses the filter, it requires a burner, an air pump, a fuel pump, a control circuit, etc., and has a problem that it is structurally complex and the device itself is expensive. In order to solve these problems, we would like to propose a cartridge-replaceable collection device that is inexpensive and has a simple structure, see Japanese Patent Application No. 1-78667.

As shown in FIG. 3, this collection device has a structure in which a circular tubular exhaust gas passage 12 at the center of the main body of the collection device 11 is passed through in the axial direction, and one end of this exhaust gas passage 12 is connected to a connecting portion 13.
A metal rod stay 15 is attached to the outlet of the exhaust pipe 14 of the engine through the exhaust gas passage 12, and a metal rod stay 15 passing through the center of the passage is fixed to the wall surface across the passage. A metal propeller 16 is rotatably attached to the center of the passageway, and the wall surface of the exhaust gas passageway 12 is made up of a number of radial thin tubes that have a certain angle with respect to the flow direction of the exhaust gas in the exhaust gas passageway 12. A thin metal honeycomb structure plate is wrapped around the exhaust gas passage 12 so that one end of the thin tube forming the honeycomb is connected to the exhaust gas passage 12, and the other end is opened to the atmosphere at the outer periphery of the main body. In order to protect the honeycomb structure wall 17, metal outer panels 18 and 19 are provided on both sides.

When the engine is running, the propeller 16 rotates due to the flow of exhaust gas flowing into the exhaust gas passage 12, and due to this rotation, the exhaust gas becomes a swirling flow and advances toward the collection device outlet 21. The soot contained in the soot is directed outward under centrifugal force in the swirling flow and flows into the thin tubes 2 of the honeycomb structure wall 17.
0 and is emitted into the atmosphere. During this time, soot is adsorbed on the wall of the thin tube 20, so when the amount of soot adhering to the wall of the thin tube becomes large, the collection device 11 is replaced with a cartridge type.

As mentioned above, in conventional soot collection devices, if the filter that is supposed to collect soot is a pellet type, the filter will become clogged with the collected soot in a short period of time, and the collected soot will be burned. Requires a means to regenerate the filter,
Another problem is that it is difficult to manufacture a honeycomb filter.

According to the present invention, the above problem can be solved by storing pellets for collecting soot in the exhaust gas of a diesel engine in a case and interposing the pellets in the exhaust pipe of the diesel engine. In the device for collecting waste gas, at least the front and rear surfaces of the case are made of a mesh with finer mesh than the pellets, and the case further includes a rotor blade on the front surface to which rotational force is applied by the flow of exhaust gas. Mounting is accomplished by supporting the case in the exhaust pipe so that it can be rotated by the flow of exhaust gas.

According to the present invention, when exhaust gas from a diesel engine flows into the exhaust pipe, the flow of the exhaust gas imparts rotational force to the rotor blades on the front of the case that house the soot-collecting pellets. rotates and the pellets contained therein are agitated. Therefore, the soot in the exhaust gas is collected on the pellets, but the soot is not concentrated and collected in a certain part of the pellet, but the parts where it is collected and fixed move sequentially due to the stirring action of the pellets. It will be collected and fixed evenly in all pellets. As a result, the pellets will not become clogged with collected soot in a short period of time, and will be able to withstand use for a long period of time.

In this embodiment configured as described above, when exhaust gas flows into the exhaust pipe while the diesel engine is operating,
Fine particles such as soot in the exhaust gas are collected by pellets 32 in a pellet case 31. At this time, the rotary blade 35 attached to the front surface of the bellet case 31 is given a rotational force by the flow of exhaust gas, so that the case 31 integrated therewith also rotates in the direction of the arrow Y together with the rotating shaft 34. As the pellets 32 stored inside the case 31 are rotated, the soot collected and attached to the pellets 32 is also moved, and as a result, the collected soot does not stay in one place. , sequentially move from the upstream side to the downstream side within the case 31, and are evenly collected in the pellets 32. Therefore, the collected soot does not stop at a certain point and clog the pellet 32 in a short time, thereby increasing the pressure loss of the exhaust gas, and the pellet can be used for a long time.
