Generally, in case of a suspensionless door type car such as a hard top type car, the door window glass comes into direct contact with the edge of the opening on the side of the car body, so a weather strip is attached to the edge of the opening on the side of the car body. However, this weather strip provides a seal between the door window glass and the vehicle body. For example, the weather strip 1 shown in FIG. 1 is such that when the door window glass 2 is closed,
It includes an inner lip 3 located on the inside of the vehicle interior (right side in the figure) with respect to the periphery of the door window glass 2, and an outer lip 4 protruding outward from the periphery of the door window glass 2. The periphery of the door window glass 2 is located at a branching portion 5 between the inner lip 3 and the outer lip 4, so as to reliably seal the inside and outside of the vehicle interior. Further, a glass guide 6 is provided at an appropriate location on the outer lip 4 and further protrudes from the outer lip 4, and this glass guide 6 guides the glass 2 to a predetermined position, that is, to the branch portion 5 when the door window glass 2 is closed. At the same time, the closed door window glass 2 is prevented from being sucked outward during high-speed driving and the upper end of the glass 2 from protruding outward from the outer lip 4. In the figure, reference numeral 7 denotes a retainer that is attached to the edge of an opening in the vehicle body (not shown) and is used to fix the weather strip 1.

By the way, in the weather strip 1, the weather strip main body 1a to which the glass guide 6 is not attached is formed to have a uniform cross section by extrusion molding, so conventionally the weather strip 1 has a uniform cross section of the outer strip 4 as shown in FIG. A portion is cut out, a glass guide 6 is fitted into the cutout portion 8, and the glass guide 6 is attached to the outer lip 4 with an adhesive.

However, in the conventional weather strip 1, as described above, the glass guide 6
were now glued together with adhesive,
In particular, the adhesive portion on the side where the door window glass 2 comes into contact is peeled off by the friction of the door window glass 2, making it impossible to smoothly guide the door window glass 2 to the branching portion 5. Furthermore, in attaching the glass guide 6 to the outer lip 4, there are a step of molding the glass guide 6 itself, a step of forming a notch 8 in the outer lip 4, and a step of gluing the glass guide 6 to the notch 8. There was a problem in that the process of forming the glass guide 6 became extremely difficult.

In view of these conventional problems, the present invention aims to strengthen the attachment part by molding the glass guide and simultaneously attaching the glass guide to the outer lip, and to simplify the work of forming the glass guide. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing a weather strip.

That is, in the method of manufacturing a weatherstrip according to the present invention, first, as shown in FIG. 3, a mold 10 is used to cover an appropriate portion of the extrusion-molded weatherstrip main body 1a where a glass guide is to be attached. This type 1
0 is composed of an upper mold 10a and a lower mold 10b, and a space 11 is formed that roughly follows the outer shape of the weather strip main body 1a. It is now being stored with an orientation toward Furthermore, the mold 10 has a storage space 12 for the outer lip 4.
Cavity 1 for glass guide molding
A mold 10 is formed in this cavity 13.
An injection hole 13a that communicates with the outside is formed. Next, as shown in FIG. 4, upper and lower molds 10a and 10b are
are joined to fix the weather strip main body 1a, and the hot melt polyamide resin 21 in the applicator 20 is injected into the cavity 13 through the injection hole 13a.
Inject inside. Note that the outer lip 4 is in contact with the polyamide resin injected into the cavity 13.
The surface was pretreated with ultraviolet light to improve the adhesion of the polyamide resin. by the way,
In this embodiment, this pretreatment is carried out by irradiating ultraviolet rays of 184.9 nm at a distance of 50 mm to 1 mm from the surface of the outer lip 4 for 1 second to 60 minutes.

Then, the polyamide resin in the cavity 13 is cooled to form a glass guide 6a, and the upper and lower molds 10a, 1
By removing 0b and cutting off the polyamide resin at the injection hole 13a, the weather strip 1 as shown in FIG. 5 is completed.

Therefore, in the method of manufacturing the weather strip 1, the glass guide 6a is attached to the outer strip 4 at the same time as the glass guide 6a is molded. That is, since the glass guide 6a is attached to the outer lip 4 in a hot melt state, its adhesive strength is extremely high and it will not be easily peeled off. Therefore, the quality of the weather strip 1 and its abrasion durability can be improved. Further, as described above, since the glass guide 6a is attached to the outer lip 4 at the same time as the molding, the work for forming the glass guide 6a is significantly simplified. Furthermore, since the glass guide 6a is not molded and bonded to the outer lip 4 as in the past, the shape and mounting position of the glass guide 4 are not restricted, and there is freedom in designing the glass guide 4. You can perform sex over a very wide range of situations.
Further, since the glass guide 6a is formed with a cavity 13 that maintains its shape relative to the outer lip 4, the shape of the glass guide 6a relative to the outer lip 4 can be maintained constant.

By the way, in this embodiment, the glass guide 6
A molded from polyamide resin is shown, but
The present invention is not limited thereto, and it may be molded using a reactive resin such as urethane made by mixing polyol and isocyanate, and in this case, pretreatment of the surface of the outer lip 4 is unnecessary. Furthermore, examples of the material for the glass guide 6a include EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate), PVC (vinyl chloride), and epoxy resin.

As explained above, in the present invention, an outer lip is provided that projects outward from the periphery of the door window glass when the door window glass is closed.
A method for manufacturing a weather strip for a vehicle, in which a glass guide further protruding from the outer lip is formed at an appropriate location on the outer lip, the outer lip being placed in a mold in which the outside of the outer lip is housed in close contact; Then, a softened thermoplastic synthetic resin is injected into a cavity for molding the glass guide, which is formed in the mold so as to be continuous with the storage space of the outer lip, so that the glass guide protrudes from the outer lip. Therefore, the adhesive strength between the glass guide and the outer lip is significantly improved, and the quality and abrasion durability of the weather strip can be improved. In addition, since the glass guide is bonded to the outer lip at the same time as molding, the work for forming the glass guide can be significantly simplified, and the degree of freedom in designing the formation position and shape of the glass guide is increased. , various excellent effects can be achieved in that the shape of the glass guide can be kept constant.
