Problems to be Solved by the Invention As shown in Fig. 6, in the conventional wear indicator ball joint 1b, when the ball joint wears down to the set wear limit, there is a pressure bond between the lower bearing 7b and the closing plate 16b. The guide protrusion 21 formed integrally with the lower bearing 7b is pulled into the socket 5b by the repulsive force of the elastic body 20, and the wear indicator cap 12b is thereby protruded by the repulsive force of the spring 14b, which reduces the wear of the ball joint. There is something that shows the limit. but,
This method requires an elastic body 20 as a means for backing up the lower bearing 7b and a guide protrusion 21 as a triggering means component for protruding the wear indicator cap 12b, and the structure of the ball joint is also complicated and assembly is difficult. The problem is that it is not easy.

Measures to solve the problem: A substantially truncated conical disc spring, which also serves as a trigger means and a lower bearing back-up means, is compressed and installed between the lower bearing and the closing plate, and wear of the ball joint progresses by a predetermined amount. Until then, the small diameter end of the disc spring engages with the wear indicator cap to prevent its protrusion.

Function When the disc spring is compressed and installed, the inner diameter of the disc spring becomes small to prevent the wear indicator cap from protruding, and when the disc spring is relaxed from compression, the inner diameter becomes large and allows the wear indicator cap to protrude.

The socket 5 has a substantially cylindrical shape and has openings at both ends, one of which is closed by a closing plate 16, and the other opening 19 allows the handle 3 of the ball stud to protrude swingably. The ball stud 2 has a spherical head 4 at one end of the handle 3. The head 4 of the ball stud is disposed in the socket 5 with the upper half on the handle side supported by an upper bearing 6 and the lower half on the side opposite to the handle supported by a lower bearing 7.
and is disposed within the socket 5 in a state supported by the closing plate 16 and the lower bearing 7, and the closing plate 16
and the lower bearing 7, the small diameter side end 10
The socket opening 1 is opened by a disc spring 9 mounted in a compressed state so as to face the bottom surface 8 of the lower bearing 7.
It is constantly being pushed towards 9.

As shown in FIG. 2, the disc spring 9, which serves both as a backup means and a trigger means, has a plurality of radial notches extending from the inner circumference to the outer circumference, and has an inner end curved between adjacent notches. A tongue piece portion 11 is formed. When the disc spring 9 is compressed, the tongue portion 11 is deformed in the horizontal direction to generate an appropriate repulsive force.

In addition, in this embodiment, the disc spring 9 is provided with a plurality of radial notches extending from the inner circumference to the outer circumference.
However, a disc spring with a notch curved from the inner circumference toward the outer circumference or an arc-shaped notch extending from the inner circumference toward the outer circumference may also be used.

Reference numeral 12 denotes a wear display cap as a wear display device, which is located on the inner periphery of the disc spring 9. This wear indicator cap 12 has a cylindrical shape with a bottom, and the diameter of the upper opening end gradually increases toward the opening end, and the engaging outer peripheral portion 1
3 is formed.

The wear indicator cap 12 has an open end in contact with the center of the bottom surface 8 of the lower bearing 7, and the other end passes through a through hole 18 formed through the closing plate 16.

However, the inner diameter of the small-diameter end 10 of the disc spring 9 is the engagement outer circumference 1 of the wear indicator cap 12 during compression mounting.
Since the outer diameter of the cap 1 is smaller than the outer diameter of the cap 1 and the engaging outer circumferential portion 13 of the cap 12 is tightened in the inner diameter direction, the outer diameter of the cap 1
2 is prevented from protruding away from the ball stud head 4 by the repulsive force of the spring 14. When the ball joint 1 wears down to the set wear limit, the small-diameter end 10 of the disc spring 9 returns to its free state, so its inner diameter becomes larger than the outer diameter of the engaging outer circumference 13 of the cap 12.
The engaging outer peripheral portion 13 is no longer tightened, allowing the cap 12 to protrude.

In this embodiment, a cap 12 engages with the small diameter end 10 of the disc spring 9 and constitutes a trigger means.
Although the engaging outer circumferential portion 13 is an outer circumferential surface whose diameter is expanded in the outer radial direction, the large diameter portion of the cap 12 may be a protrusion that projects annularly from the outer circumference.

The disc spring 9, which acts as a backup means for the lower bearing 7 while the ball joint 1 is in use, tries to return from the state shown by the solid line in FIG. 4 to the free state shown by the two-dot chain line as the ball joint 1 wears out. The repulsive force pushes the lower bearing 7 up toward the socket opening 19.
When the wear of the ball joint eventually reaches a preset limit, the small diameter end 10 of the disc spring 9 is disengaged from the engagement outer circumference 13 of the wear indicator cap 12, as shown in FIG. That is, the disc spring 9 now acts as a triggering means, and the cap 12 projects away from the ball stud head 4 due to the repulsive force of the spring 14. Protruding cap 12
is locked in the through hole 18 by the engaging outer circumferential portion 13 having an outer diameter larger than the inner diameter of the inner circumference of the through hole 18 of the closing plate 16 . This allows visual confirmation of the wear limit of the ball joint.

In addition, in the above embodiment, the engagement outer peripheral portion 13
In addition to functioning as a trigger means, it also functioned as a means for preventing slippage from the closing plate 16,
As a means for preventing the cap from falling off, an annular protrusion (not shown) having a diameter larger than the inner diameter of the through hole 18 or a shoulder portion (not shown) due to the difference in outer diameter is provided on the bottom side of the cap 12 in addition to the engaging outer circumferential portion 13. It's okay.

In the first embodiment described above, the small-diameter handle end 10 of the disc spring 9, which also serves as lower bearing backup means and triggering means, is mounted so as to face the bottom surface 8 of the lower bearing 7, but the mounting direction of the disc spring is as described above. The present invention is not limited to this embodiment; for example, the disc spring may be mounted in the opposite direction as shown in FIG. 5 as a second embodiment.

The configuration of the parts of this second embodiment except for the mounting direction of the disc spring is almost the same as the ball joint 1 of the first embodiment, so the same parts as the first embodiment have the same number. The biggest difference between the second embodiment and the first embodiment is that the mounting direction of the disc spring 9a is opposite to that of the first embodiment, and the small diameter end is closed. This is the point facing the plate 9a.

In addition, in the first and second embodiments, one plate spring is used each, but the tongue portions 11 of the two plate springs (not shown) are brought into contact with each other and the corresponding contact is made. The tongue piece 11 and the engaging outer peripheral part 13 of the wear indicator cap 12 may be installed so as to constitute a trigger means.
