Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve watertight assembly process of an electric connector by arranging a watertight member and a pressing member in a wire introducing portion of a housing, and inserting a cam member with a pressing force into the wire introducing portion from its side. CONSTITUTION:A terminal connected to a wire is held in each of multiple terminal compartment of a housing 10. An elastic waterproof plug 16 having multiple wire insertion holes 18 is housed in a wire introducing position 12 and a pressing member 17 having multiple wire insertion holes 20 is also fitted in behind the plug 16. A cam member 24 for engaging with the pressing member 17 is pressed into the wire introducing member 12 from its outer side to pass through the inside of the member 12. Therefore, the pressing member 17 is pushed in the direction perpendicular to the pressing direction of the cam member 24. At the same time, the waterproof plug 16 is compressed with the pressing force of the cam member. As a result, the watertight plug 16 is contacted watertightly with the surface of the wire introducing member 12, improving the efficiency of watertight assembly process.
