往復記録再生ができるようにすると共に、回転ヘ
ツドとテープの接触開始点でのヘツドタツチを安
定にしてテープダメージを減らすようにしたもの
である。

おいては、ヘツドHA,HBはテープの幅方向の
ほぼ中央部からテープに接触し始めるようにテー
プはドラムに巻き付けられるから、第4図からも
明らかなように、ヘツドHA,HBがテープ2に
対接し始める部分では、空気は全てテープ2とド
ラム1との間のエアーフイルム層に流れ込み、テ
ープ2がこの部分で振動するようなことはなく、
安定なヘツドタツチとなる。
