Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve appearance through linear maintenance of a joint between hollow seal parts and to perform simple and reliable joining by a method wherein a resilient joiner is inserted in an engaging manner in the hollow parts of a joint between two end parts of hollow seal parts, and the two end parts are joined therewith by using an adhesive. CONSTITUTION:A weather strip A has a hollow seal part 1 and a trim part 2, both end parts 11, 12 and 21, 22 in the axial direction thereof are joined with each other to form an annular joint. In this case, a resilient joiner 3 is inserted in an engaging manner in hollow parts 10 of the two end parts 11 and 12 of the hollow seal parts 1. The resilient joiner 3 is joined with an inner wall 101 of the hollow part 10 by using an adhesive 4. Two end parts 11 and 12 of the hollow parts 1 are also joined together by an adhesive. This method improves appearance by maintaining the joint between the hollow seal parts 1 in a linear state through utilization of the resilient joiner 3, and performs simple and reliable joining through utilization of the adhesive 4.

Next, as shown in FIG. 7, one elastic joiner 3 is inserted into the hollow part 10 on the end 11 side, and one both ends 11, 12,
Join 21 and 22 in a straight line.

As a result, as shown in FIG. 1, both ends 11°12.
21 and 22 are joined together to form a joined body A.

In addition, in consideration of variations in the size of the hollow seal portion l, three to four types of elastic joiners 3 of corresponding sizes are prepared, for example, those with a diameter of 6 to 8 mm. It is preferable to keep it.

Next, the effects of one example of the joining method will be explained.

That is, in order to fit the elastic joiner 3 into the hollow part 10 and join the inner wall 101 of the hollow part 10 with the adhesive 4,
It is possible to join the bonded body in a short time of about 1/5 to 1/6 compared to conventional vulcanization bonding.

In addition, in such a joint part, the elastic joiner 3
to be used as is as a core.

Unlike conventional joining methods, there is no need to remove the core.

This is because the elastic joiner 3 uses a bendable urethane resin hollow foam.

According to one example, therefore, the weatherstrip can be joined in a relatively short time.

Furthermore, since one elastic joiner 3 is connected and held across the two end portions, there is no deformation of the joining portion, and the linear shape of the two end portions can be maintained as is. Therefore, it is possible to obtain a weather strip with straight joints and good appearance.

In addition, since a rust preventive agent is applied to the end surface of the trim part,
The core metal does not rust and has excellent durability.
