部被覆層3の表面に50ミクロン程度の厚さに塗布
して加熱乾燥して成る再帰反射効果を有する透明
被覆層、6は全体の外周に押出成形により被覆さ
れる無色透明のポリ塩化ビニル樹脂から成る外部
被覆層、7は外部被覆層6の表面に紫外線硬化イ
ンキによりフレキソ印刷又はグラビア印刷された
目盛である。尚、ガラスビーズ入り透明被覆層5
は、接着剤にガラスビーズを吹付散布して形成し
ても良く、又は透明の合成樹脂コンパンドにガラ
スビーズを混入して2色押出成形により被覆して
形成しても良い。尚、図面は説明の便宜上誇張さ
れているが実際の形状は厚さが0.3mm程度、幅13
mm程度のテープ状を呈するものである。

光灯又はナトリウム灯等の上記のような紫外線を
発しない人工光線下でもガラスビーズの反射効果
により表面の目盛が浮び上つて前記と同様にその
読取りが容易となるという二重の効果を併せ有し
て前記の問題点を充分に解決し得るものであり、
また前記公知のものにおける蛍光塗料は巻尺全表
面に亘つて塗布されることなく単に目盛インクの
代りに用いられているにすぎないので、同目盛の
頂面に本考案のようにガラスビーズ入り透明被覆
層を重複形成するには複雑な装置と極めて精緻な
技術を必要とするが、本考案においては中心部の
芯材の外周に蛍光染料入り内部被覆層を形成し、
当該内部被覆層の表面にガラスビーズ入り透明被
覆層を形成するようにしたので両層の重複形成は
簡単な装置と平易な技術によつてこれを極めて容
易に行うことができる等の利点も併せ有するもの
である。
