Abstract

PURPOSE:To transmit a message to the other-party facsimile even though of a subscriber side telephone is not provided with a facsimile transmitter by providing set a switchboard with a facsimile converter which converts the signal selected by the subscriber telephone set to a picture signal. CONSTITUTION:A facsimile converter 4 automatically responds to the dial operation of a subscriber telephone set 1 by an automatic answering equipment 8, and thereafter, a dial receiving circuit 9 receives the subscriber number of the other-party facsimile and a sender circuit 11 sends this subscriber number, and then, the telephone set is connected to the other-party facsimile receiver. It is detected by the automatic answering equipment 8 that the other-party facsimile receiver responds, and a start signal is sent to a terminal from a terminal start circuit 10. Thus, transmission to the other-party facsimile is possible though the facsimile transmitter is not provided on the transmission side.
