Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease probability of delivery operation in a pickup part so as to improve reliability by providing a control means which repeats the delivery operation to a fixed number of times in the case of a paper detecting sensor not detecting paper. CONSTITUTION:Paper 4, provided in a conveying part 7, is detected by a paper detecting sensor 10. Accordingly, after delivery operation is finished, the paper is confirmed normally delivered. Reversely, the case, that the paper 4 is not provided or the delivery operation is failed, is confirmed, after the delivery operation is finished, by this paper detecting sensor 10 not detecting the paper 4. Next, the delivery operation by conveying rollers 8, 9 is repeated by acontrol means 11 in the case of this paper detecting sensor 10 not detecting the paper. Accordingly, probability of the delivery operation failed can be decreased.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [Field of Industrial Application] The present invention relates to a paper feeding device used in printers and the like, and particularly relates to a paper feeding device with fewer feeding errors. [Prior Art] Conventionally, a paper feeding device includes a pickup unit that separates and feeds stacked sheets one by one, a conveyance unit that conveys the fed sheets, and a system that detects when the sheets have been fed into the conveyance unit. A sensor is provided to detect the paper, and if the sensor does not detect the paper after performing the feeding operation - times, it is assumed that the paper is not loaded. Note that the paper confirmation sensor of the paper feeding device is described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 59-53341. [Problems to be Solved by the Invention] The above-mentioned conventional technology has a problem in that when the pickup unit fails to feed out the paper, it is assumed that the paper has run out even though the paper is loaded. An object of the present invention is to reduce the probability that the paper is considered to be empty when the pickup section fails to feed out the paper, and to improve the reliability of the paper feeding operation. [Means for Solving the Problems] In order to achieve the above object, the present invention includes a paper detection sensor that detects that paper is fed into a conveying section, and a paper detection sensor that detects paper being fed into a conveying section, and a paper detection sensor that detects paper that is not detected by the paper detection sensor until a certain number of times. A control means for repeating the feeding operation is provided. [Operation] The paper detection sensor detects the presence of paper in the transport section. Therefore, after the feeding operation is completed, confirm that the paper has been fed normally. Conversely, whether the paper is out or the feeding operation has failed can be confirmed by the fact that the paper detection sensor does not detect the paper after the feeding operation is completed. When the paper detection sensor does not detect paper, the control means
Repeat the feeding action. Therefore, the control means 6, which can reduce the probability that the feeding operation fails, also determines that there is no paper if the paper detection sensor does not detect the paper even after the feeding operation has been tried a certain number of times. by this,
It is possible to prevent endless repetition of the feeding operation when the paper runs out. [Example] Hereinafter, an example of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. The leading edge of the topmost sheet 4 of sheets 3 loaded on a sheet table 2 which is urged upward by a spring 1 is in contact with a pickup roller 5 . A friction plate 6 for separation is placed ahead of the tip of the top paper 4.
is provided and is in contact with the pickup roller 5. In addition, spring 1. The paper tray 2.degree. pickup roller 59 and separation friction plate 6 constitute a pickup section. A conveyance path 7 is provided on an extension of the tip of the separation friction plate 6. Conveyance rollers 8 and 9 are provided in the middle of the conveyance path 7 to face each other. The conveyance rollers 8 and 9 constitute a conveyance section. A paper detection sensor 10 is provided slightly ahead of the conveyance rollers 8 and 9, and is connected to a control device 11. The control device 11 includes a motor 12 . clutch 13 buzzer 1
4 are connected. The motor 12 is connected to the conveyance rollers 8, 9 via gears 15, 16, 17, 18, etc. Further, the motor 12 is connected to the pickup roller 5, and the clutch 13. They are connected via gears 15, 19, 20, etc. Next, the operation of this embodiment will be explained. When it is necessary to feed paper, the control device 1 connects the clutch 13 and rotates the motor 12 by a certain amount. The above is considered as one feeding operation. As a result, the pickup roller 5. Then, the conveyance roller 8°9 rotates. Since the paper table 2 is urged upward by the spring 1, the top paper 4 of the paper 3
is pressed against the pickup roller 5, and due to the frictional force between the pickup roller 5 and the top paper 4, the top paper 4 advances toward the separation friction plate 6 as the pickup roller 5 rotates. Although it receives frictional resistance from the plate 6, the propulsive force from the pick-up roller 5 is greater, so under normal conditions, the top paper 4 enters between the transport rollers 8 and 9, and the paper detection sensor 10 is moved between the top paper 4 and the top paper 4. The tip passes through. As a result, the paper detection sensor 10 detects the top paper 4, and the control device! Tell 11. In this case, the control device 11 determines that the 5th feeding operation has been performed normally, disconnects the clutch 13, and further rotates the motor 12. As a result, the rotation of the pickup roller 5 stops and the conveyance rollers 8 and 9 rotate. As a result, the top paper 4 is further conveyed further. During the feeding operation, the top paper 4 moves forward due to the difference between the propulsive force of the pink up roller 5 and the resistance received from the paper 1 and the separation friction plate 6. Therefore, environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity, and the surface of the paper 1 When the difference in force becomes small depending on the state or the like, the pick-up roller 5 and the top paper 4 may slip. When this slip occurs, the friction between the pink up roller and the top paper 4 becomes a dynamic friction state, so that the propulsive force becomes smaller than in the normal state. As a result, the uppermost paper 4 may not reach the position of the paper detection sensor 1o after the - number of feeding operations, and as a result, the paper detection sensor 10 does not detect the paper. In this case, the control device 11 repeats the feeding operation once again. Since the pickup roller 5 has stopped rotating, there is a static friction coefficient between it and the top paper 4, and the top paper 4 moves further by the second feeding operation and is detected by the paper detection sensor 10. The probability of
If the paper detection sensor 10 still does not detect the paper, the control device 11 repeats the feeding operation until reaching a predetermined number of times. Therefore, when the top paper 4 gradually advances, the probability of reaching the paper detection sensor 10 becomes even higher. When each feeding operation is completed, the paper detection sensor 1-0
When detecting paper, the control device disengages the clutch 13, rotates the motor 12, and transports the top paper 4 by the transport rollers 8 and 9. If the paper detection sensor 10 does not detect paper even after repeating the feeding operation a predetermined number of times, the control device 11 determines that there is no paper l, sounds the buzzer 14, and instructs the operator to replenish paper 1. encourage. [Effects of the Invention] According to the present invention, it is possible to reduce the probability of a feeding operation of the pickup unit, and therefore it is possible to provide a highly reliable paper feeding device.
