Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the precision of operation and to extend the control zone by using parallel springs as flat springs which support an objective lens in a fixing part and extending these springs in the tracking direction to increase the rigidity in the tracking direction of the objective lens. CONSTITUTION:An objective lens holder 20 is provided with a pair of upper flat springs SP and a pair of lower flat springs SP which are extended in the tracking direction and are arranged in the track direction symmetrically with respect to the optical axis of the objective lens and have one ends fixed. The other ends of springs SP are fixed to a fixing part 25. The fixing part 25 is recessed with the same arc as a turntable 26 so that a lens 1 deeply enters to the center part of an optical disk. Since a deflecting prism 27 which leads a luminous flux to the lens 1 is arranged between flat springs SP and is arranged on the lens side in the optical axis direction, an actuator is made thin. This constitution increases the rigidity of flat springs SP in the tracking direction, and the precision of tracking operation is improved and the control zone is extended.

The deflection prism 9 guides the light beam to the objective lens 1.
It is arranged below the objective lens and further below the housing 2. On the right side of the deflection prism 9, an eight-light beam emission system and a detection system are arranged. After the light beam emitted by the emission system enters the deflection prism, it is irradiated onto the optical disk Ds, which is a disk-shaped information recording carrier, The reflected light passes through the deflection prism and reaches the detection system.

First, since the magnetic circuit and the leaf spring are located all around the housing, and the movable coil is also located all around the housing, within the objective lens actuator, only the system in which the light beam enters from the bottom side of the objective lens is used. Therefore, it is not possible to arrange a deflection prism inside the actuator.

The rigidity of the objective lens in the tracking direction is reduced, and when the carriage that fixedly supports the actuator is in the tracking state, its vibrations are transmitted to the objective lens.
There is a problem in that the objective lens resonates, making it impossible to perform highly accurate tracking operations.

Figure 3 shows that since the leaf spring is arranged around the entire circumference of the actuator housing, the radial size of the objective lens actuator tough is determined by the spring constant of the leaf spring, which makes it impossible to achieve miniaturization. For example, if the length of the bridge portion 3a (see FIG. 5) of the leaf spring 3 is reduced to increase the spring constant, a large thrust force of the linear motor is required, and the actuator becomes larger.

Further, if the length of the bridge portion of the leaf spring 3 is increased, the spring constant becomes lower, and while the linear motor can be made smaller, the actuator also becomes larger in the radial direction.

Regarding Prior Art 2, since the shape of the leaf spring 3 is circular, when the actuator moves to the inner peripheral part of the optical disk, the turntable of the rotary motor that holds the disk fixedly and the outer frame of the rotary motor There is a problem in that the recording area of the optical disc can only be taken up to the point where it comes into contact with the disc.

The deflection prism 27 that guides the light beam from the light source of the fixed optical system to the objective lens 1 is arranged between the four plate springs SP mentioned above, and the light path of the light beam is not blocked by the plate spring SP or the linear motor. Therefore, since the deflection prism 27 is located closer to the objective lens in the optical axis direction than in the prior art, the actuator section can be made thinner.

In addition, since the leaf spring SP has a configuration extending in the tracking direction of the optical disc Ds, when the spring constant in the focusing direction is the same, the rigidity of the leaf spring SP in the tracking direction is lower than that of the conventional leaf spring 3 (fifth (see figure) becomes higher.
