Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the decomposition efficiency of polychlorodibezofran by treating a liquid mixture of fly ash and water with an ultrasonic wave to separate toxic substance from fly ash and bringing the formed suspension into contact with ozone. CONSTITUTION:The fly ash from a garbage incinerator is mixed with water in a mixing tank 2 equipped with a stirrer 1 and the obtained liquid mixture is introduced into a treatment tank 3. When the ultrasonic wave of about 32kHz generated in an ultrasonic generator 4 is applied to the liquid mixture in the treatment tank 3, polychlorobenzofran(PCDFs) and polychlorobenzodioxine(PCDDs) are separated. The ozone-containing gas obtained by an ozone generator 6 is sent to the gas distributor of the treatment tank 3 in this state and the suspension in the tank 3 is bubbled with the ozone-containing gas to decompose PCDFs and PCDDs.

However, in order to apply this ozone treatment to the decomposition and detoxification of PCDFs and PCDDs in waste incineration fly ash, it is necessary to devise ways to increase the decomposition efficiency. In other words, in order to make ozone effectively act on PCDFs and PCDDs and increase the decomposition efficiency, fly ash must be suspended in water in advance, and PCDFs and PCDDs must be suspended in water beforehand.
It is necessary to separate s from fly ash.
