Abstract

PURPOSE:To mold a composite article simply by a method wherein the main body of a molded form is formed employing the combined mold of a slide mold and an opposite mold and the slide mold is slid to combine the mold, retaining the main body of the molded form, with the other mold to form a molding cavity on the sealing surface of the main body of the molded form and pour the solution of elastic sealing material. CONSTITUTION:The mold 1 of the side of a movable board and the primary molding mold 2a of the side of a fixed board are clamped and primary molding resin is injected into a primary molding cavity 9, then, is cured. Thereafter, the molds are opened and the primary molding mold 2a is slid to clamp it with the secondary molding mold 2b of the side of the fixed board, then, a secondary molding cavity 15 is formed between the sealed surface 14 of the main body 8 of the plastic molded form and the secondary molding mold 2b. In this case, the port of a secondary molding gate and a nozzle touch section are formed on the parting line 3 of the mold. A secondary injection unit 4 is advanced to the nozzle touch section and the nozzle section of the secondary injection unit 4 is touched to inject secondary molding resin. After the secondary molding resin is cured, the molds are opened and a product is injected, then, the secondary molding mold is slid.

All of these known molding methods are based on normal injection molding methods, and in order to perform these moldings, a dedicated injection molding machine equipped with two injection cylinders is required. This special injection molding machine also has a hydraulic system to move the two injection cylinders.
Both the electrical system and the bed of the injection tube are more complex than in a normal injection molding machine that only has one primary injection molding machine.

In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, according to the present invention, one of a pair of molds of an ordinary injection molding machine is a slide mold, and this slide mold and the opposite mold are combined to form a pair of molds for primary molding. This pair of molds is used to mold a plastic molded product body, and then the mold is opened while the molded product body is held in the mold, and the slide mold is slid to mold the plastic molded product body. A pair of molds for secondary molding is formed by combining the mold holding the main body and another mold opposite to each other to form a molding cavity on the sealing surface of the molded product body, and a mold part is placed in this molding cavity. The method is characterized in that an elastic sealant liquid is injected and cured through a sealing line to form a composite article in which a plastic molded body and an elastic sealant are integrated.

With this molding method, composite molded articles that could previously only be made using expensive dedicated molding machines can now be produced by attaching only a simple secondary molding machine to a conventional ordinary injection molding machine and creating a mold with a sliding mechanism. It can now be easily molded just by using it. In particular, if a large molded product is to be made using a dedicated rotary machine, a molding machine with a very large goo plate is required, but according to the present invention, the goo plate can be of the same size as the conventional one.
