Then, the light reflected by the identification section 4 is transmitted to the light receiving element 10.
Since the light is received in each part 10a to 10h in a pattern as shown in FIG. Card 1 is identified as a regular card by detecting the positional relationship between parts 10a and 10e) in FIG. Therefore, even if you obtain this card 1 for the purpose of forging a card, for example, it is not only difficult to analyze the groove pattern of the identification part, but also requires a great deal of cost to discipline a similar identification part. Therefore, the anti-counterfeiting effect is extremely high.

It consists of a combination of a second set 27 of grooves 28. Therefore, the light irradiated onto the identification portion 24 is applied to each portion 10a to 10h of the light receiving element 10, as shown in FIG.
Since the light is received as a pair of elliptical patterns extending in a direction perpendicular to the extending direction (imaginary lines S, T) of 28, the parts with high received light intensity (parts 10a, 10e and parts 10b, 10f in FIG. 4) ) by detecting the positional relationship between them, it is determined that card 1 is a regular card. The rest of the configuration is the same as the first embodiment.

For example, the identification section may be provided on the back side of the card, or may be constituted by a hologram. Further, a plurality of identification parts having mutually different groove patterns may be provided on the surface of the card to perform more sophisticated identification, or identification may be performed using different identification parts depending on the state of use of the card. Further, in each of the above embodiments, illumination light is directly irradiated from the light emitting element to the identification section, but a mirror, a prism, etc. may be inserted into the optical path to change the direction of the optical path. Furthermore, a positioning sensing device (PSD) or the like may be used as the light receiving element in addition to the photodiode. Furthermore, the light irradiated to the identification section is not limited to light of a specific wavelength, and may be, for example, white light.

A reader/writer that reads/writes a card that has an identification part on its surface that has characteristics in the pattern of reflected light with respect to irradiated light, has a light emitting part that emits light to the identification part, and a plurality of mutually separated parts. By integrally configuring the card reader/writer with the light-receiving part and identifying the genuine card from the reflection pattern from the identification part, counterfeiting can be prevented without making the card reader/writer larger or more complex. The effects of the present invention are great because a difficult optical identification structure can be easily used for the identification structure of an information storage card.
