Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of toner which sticks on the front end of a blade and to improve a cleaning finish by bringing part of a rotary brush into contact with the front end of the cleaning blade and arranging the rotary brush in front of the contacting position where the cleaning blade contacts a photosensitive drum. CONSTITUTION:The rotary brush 4 is arranged in front of the contacting position where the cleaning blade 3 contacts the photosensitive drum 1 while the part of the brush 4 contacts the front end of the cleaning blade 3. Then the rotary brush 4 is rotated by the rotation of the photosensitive drum 1 through a friction roller 5 and its rotating direction matches the direction of rotation of the drum 1.
