Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a worker in a pit to recognize easily whether or not a cage is moving as commanded by him by providing the pit of an elevating path with a display device formed of indicating lamps for indicating the floor position of the cage and an direction lamp for indicating the running direction of the cage. CONSTITUTION:At the time of inspecting the running state of a tail cord 9, a worker 15 enters into a pit 3, and an operator 16 gets on a cage 4. When the worker 15 opens an interphone 20 to command the cage 4 standing at a cage stop 8-3 on the third floor to descend to a cage stop 8-1 on the first floor, the operator 16 operates a control panel. When the cage 4 thus starts descending, the direction lamp 19 of an indicator 13 in the pit 3 lights up to indicate the descending direction as well as indicating lamps 21-3, 21-2, 21-1 light up in succession. As a result, the worker 15 can inspect the running state of the tail cord 9 while monitoring the movement of the cage 4, thus recognizing the position of the cage 4 easily.

In elevators, when performing elevator installation work or maintenance inspection, workers in the hoistway pit and in the car need to communicate with each other. Therefore, as disclosed in, for example, Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 62-647581, a vehicle equipped with an intercom inside the pit and the car has been proposed.

By the way, when working with conventional equipment, even if a worker in the pit commands a worker inside the car to raise the car using an intercom, the inside of the hoistway is dark and the car is not rising or descending. It was very difficult to tell what was going on, which posed a safety problem. There was also the problem that even if a car was ordered to stop on a specific floor, it was not clear whether the car was stopped on that floor or not because it was dark.

According to the present invention, when a worker in a pit uses an intercom to order a worker in a car to drive a car, he or she sees an indicator that displays the car position and a direction light that displays the car running direction. As a result, the workers in the pit can easily know whether the car is moving according to their instructions, which not only improves work efficiency but also allows them to work safely.
