Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 [産業上の利用分野] 本発明は、住宅の壁や床等、地下への埋設等に使用され
る給水・給湯・温水・ガス配管を接続する継手であって
、容易に接続がおこなえるようにした導電性熱可塑性樹
脂を発熱体とした融着継手に関する。
ε従来の技術] 従来の電気融着継手に関連するものとして、例えば特公
昭63−24820号に開示された第8図に示す電気融
着継手がある。これは、熱可塑性絶縁材料で出来た2つ
の部材51.52を互いにその面を会わせて接触し、接
触面の一部に設けた発熱体であるコイル55に電流をな
がすことによりコイルを設けた部分の接触面を材料が加
熱される溶接域とするとともに溶接域に隣合う前もって
挿入されたパイプにとけ込む。ここで、前記コイル55
を熱可塑性絶縁材料51にとりつける際多くの労力を必
要とし、コイル55のショート問題と同時に、コイル5
5の取付けが熱可塑性絶縁材料51にさまざまな形状に
する制約が存在する。同時に製造工程も多い。
[発明が解決しようとする問題点] ここで、2層熱可ヅ性絶縁材料51.52と発熱体の前
述したコイル55の取付は操作の誤り、熱可塑性絶縁材
料52の成形時による圧力でコイル55がよれる等のシ
ョート問題と発熱部に均一な発熱が得られないため、パ
イプの表面に均一に融は込みがなく融着にムラが生じ残
留応力の発生原因にもなっている。また多くの労力を費
やしても発熱体であるコイル55の取付けが不可能な形
状が存在する。すなわち熱指向性を発熱体に持たせ融着
部に空気の巻き込みを起こさせないようコイル55の断
面比を場所により変化させること、コイル55を軸線方
向に曲がりくねったカーブを描きながら螺旋状に保持さ
せ取り付けることは、非常に困難である。
従ってこれら融着部を均一に融着させるための発熱体が
必要で同時に容易で安価に製造が出来る本発明はこれら
を提供する。
[問題点を解決するための手段] 本発明によれば、導電性熱可塑性樹脂を発熱体として採
用し、しかも射出成形等の量産が可能で断面比も簡単に
変化出来、容易に熱可塑性融着継手を提供する事ができ
る。
本発明の第1の仕方によれば、発熱体及び融着部が導電
性フィラーであるカーボンブラック、金属粉末、金属繊
維または炭素繊維による導電性熱可塑性樹脂よりなり、
コントローラによって該融着継手に電流をながし、一定
のエネルギーを供給することで該融着継手を溶融し予め
差し込まれたパイプ表面に融着され、容易に接続が可能
となる。
本発明の第2の仕方によれば、発熱体及び融着部が導電
性フィラーであるカーボンブラック、金属粉末、金属繊
維または炭素繊維による導電性熱可塑性樹脂よりなり外
周面を熱可塑性絶縁樹脂で包み、コントローラによって
該導電性熱可塑性樹脂に電流をながし、一定のエネルギ
ーを供給することで該導電性熱可塑性樹脂を溶融し予め
差し込まれたパイプ表面も融着され容易に接続が可能と
なる。
本発明の第3の仕方によれば、発熱体及び融着部が導電
性フィラーであるカーボンブラック、金属粉末または炭
素繊維による導電性熱可塑性樹脂を螺旋形状にし熱指向
性をもたせ空気の巻き込みを融着部に生じさせない融着
継手である。
本発明の第4の仕方によれば、発熱体である材料の密度
または硬度変化を感知する素子が用いられ材料軟化時に
電気機械的または電子的構成要素が作用され、材料の特
性変化を検出・利用して溶融電流遮断システムに伝える
ことが可能である。
[実施例] 以下、添付図面を参照して本発明の第1の方法を更に説
明する。
第1図は本発明が導電性フィラーであるカーボンブラッ
クを配合物とした中密度ポリエチレン樹脂製融着継手で
ある。代表的な導電性カーボンフランクの物理的性質を
表1に示す 表 1  物理的性質 配合技術は遍在のない均一なコンパウンド技術とカーボ
ンの構造粘性に基ずく粘度上昇を押さえることが重要で
ある。
第2図および第3図は導電性熱可塑性樹脂2、あるいは
2Iとして中密度ポリエチレン樹脂にアルミニウム金属
粉を混ぜて成形し、その後、中密度ポリエチレン樹脂に
熱可塑性絶縁樹脂1、あるいは11を外周部に成形して
出来た融着継手である。アルミニウム金属半分とポリエ
チレンとの混合比と電気抵抗の関係を表2に示す。
表 2  フィラーの混合比と電気抵抗樹脂の機械的性
能や流動性の低下を考慮にいれて用途に応じて決定され
る。第5図は第3図の融着継手を第4図のパイプ4に挿
入させたところをあられす。凸部コネクターブツシュ3
1.32にコントローラを接続し通電させ該導電性熱可
塑性樹脂21が発熱し接しているパイプ4にとけこむこ
の場合パイプ4と熱可塑性絶縁樹脂11は出来れば同一
の樹脂が望ましく導電性熱可塑性樹脂21のマトリック
スも同一の樹脂が望ましい結果が得られた。
第6図は第5図の導電性熱可塑性樹脂21の形状を螺旋
状にしたものでポリプロピレンにステンレス繊維のフィ
ラーを混入させて成形より得た実施例をあられし、前記
パイプ4へのとけこみを一方向から逐次おこなう熱指向
性を持たせるため断面形状が逐次変化している。また同
様に導電性熱可塑性樹脂と前記パイプの発熱ととけ込み
がタイミング良くいくように断面を図形とした実施例を
表す。
第7図は第3図の該導電性熱可塑性樹脂25にセンサー
用コネクターブツシュ71を設けた融着継手で、センサ
ー用コネクターブツシュ71により融着時の材料軟化が
電気的に外部に検出出来また製造に伴う該導電性熱可塑
性樹脂25の不均一な材料に対応できる。
[発明の効果] 以上から明らかな様に本発明によれば、熱指向性を持た
せた発熱体を容易に製造することが可能で空気の巻き込
みによる現象を防ぎ均一な融着部が得られ残留応力がな
い融着継手を提供し、融着時の制御も実施可能となり、
優れた効果を発揮する。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1)カーボンブラック、金属粉末、金属繊維または炭素
    繊維をフィラーとした導電性熱可塑性樹脂よりなること
    を特徴とする融着継手 2)カーボンブラック、金属粉末、金属繊維または炭素
    繊維をフィラーとした導電性熱可塑性樹脂を少なくとも
    端面または内面に設けたことを特徴とする融着継手 3)特許請求の範囲第2項において前記導電性熱可塑性
    樹脂の導伝率を0.01から10Ω・cm^−^1に設
    けたことを特徴とする融着継手 4)特許請求の範囲第2項において、前記導電性熱可塑
    性樹脂の2箇所に端子を設けたことを特徴とする融着継
    手 5)特許請求の範囲第2項において、前記導電性熱可塑
    性樹脂を、螺旋形状にしたことを特徴とする融着継手 6)特許請求の範囲第2項において、前記導電性熱可塑
    性樹脂の少なくとも1箇所にセンサー用コネクターブッ
    シュと熱電対とを一体に保持するゴムホルダーと、熱電
    対のリード線と通電ケーブルを保持するゴムキャップと
    からなり、ゴムホルダーの外周部に形成した凹部または
    凸部と該凹部または凸部に対応してゴムキャップの内周
    部に形成された凸部または凹部によってはめあわせて結
    合され、かつ熱電対とリード線、コネクターブッシュと
    通電ケーブルの間をそれぞれコネクターで着脱可能に連
    結したことを特徴とする融着継手
