Abstract

PURPOSE:To save a space for housing an optical fiber cable core and simplify a joint work by a method wherein a winding frame which surrounds the joint part of power cable cores concentrically is provided in a metallic joint box and a bundle of an additional length of the optical fiber cable core is wound on the frame to be housed. CONSTITUTION:Optical fiber/power composite cables 12 to be jointed to each other are inserted into the components 6a and 6b of a copper joint box 6 and an optical fiber cable core housing part 8 beforehand. After sufficient additional lengths of the optical fiber cable cores 13 are provided, a power enable joint part 7 is formed. On the other hand, the optical fiber cable cores 13 are connected to each other by a method such as a V-groove method. The additional length part 15 including the connected part is wound into a loop bundle and, further, the bundle is formed into an ellipse and wound into the annular optical fiber cable housing part 8 and fixed.

(Function) In the optical/power composite cable junction box of the present invention, the winding drum is arranged so as to coaxially surround the power cable connection part to form a wide storage part with a large radius of curvature. The long portion can be wound up as a bundle. That is, the optical fiber cable core connection part and the power cable core connection part can be integrated and housed in a metal connection tube, and the entire connection part can be made smaller. In addition, the entire part of the optical fiber cable that comes out of the protective coating is housed inside the metal connection tube, providing sufficient protection against external damage.Furthermore, since it is wound up in a bundle, the optical fiber cable core wire can be easily connected when branching. It can be taken out.

This junction box is assembled as follows. That is, first, the component parts 6a and 6b of the connecting copper tube 6 and the optical fiber cable core storage part 8 were inserted into the optical/power composite cable 12 to be connected in advance, and enough extra length of the optical fiber cable 13 was taken. Then, the power cable connection portion 7 is formed in a conventional manner. On the other hand, the optical fiber cable core wires are first connected by V-cleaning or the like, and the extra length 15 including the connection part 14 is wound into a loop as shown in FIG. 2, and then as shown in FIG. This is made into an ellipse to form an annular optical fiber cable core storage section 8.
Roll it up and secure it by any means. Then, as described above, this core wire storage part 8 is connected to the component part 6b of the connecting copper pipe 6.
and finally each component part 6a of the connecting copper pipe 6.
s 6b is pulled out onto the power cable connection part 7 and connected by the flange part 10, and a self-fusion tape 11 or the like is wound between the base of the connection steel pipe 6 and each optical/power composite cable 12 to perform waterproofing.

[Effect of the invention] In the conventional method, the power cable core connection part and the optical fiber cable core connection part were housed in separate connection boxes, but according to the optical/power composite cable connection box of the present invention, the power cable core connection part and the optical fiber cable core connection part were housed in separate connection boxes. Since the core wire connection section and the optical fiber cable core connection section are integrated, storage space is reduced and cable installation work is simplified. It is also effective in cases where the connection part cannot be divided into two, such as in submarine cables. Further, in the optical/power cable junction box of the present invention, since the optical fiber cable is not laid outside the junction box, the reliability of the optical fiber cable is increased from the viewpoint of damage resistance and waterproofness.
