Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a good resolution toner image by a method wherein toner on a first photosensitive layer surface of a part which is irradiated by first light among the toner coated on the first photosensitive layer surface is flown by Coulomb's force, and a toner image is formed on a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A recording medium 3 of recording paper or the like is provided between a first and a second photosensitive units 1, 2 and toner 6 is applied onto a, first photosensitive layer 1c and a first charged electrode 1d. Both first light 4a and second light 5a are irradiated, surface resistance Vs1p of the first photosensitive layer 1c and surface resistance Vs2p of the second photosensitive layer 2c become respectively equal to electric potential V1b of a first rear surface electrode and electric potential V2b of a second rear surface electrode. Therefore, when a surface potential difference between the first photosensitive layer 1c, i.e., the part irradiated by the first light 4a and the second photosensitive layer 2c, i.e., the part irradiated by the second light 5a is enough to make the toner 6 fly and the other part has a potential difference by which the toner can not fly, the toner 6 is not diverged radially on the recording medium 3, and a toner image 6a of which peripheral blur or the like are extremely reduced is recorded.

When the photosensitive layer 11c is irradiated with the light 14, the resistance of the photosensitive layer 11c decreases in the portion irradiated with the light 14, and as a result, the electric field acting on the toner 16 is strengthened, and the toner 16 is moved to the recording state due to Coulomb force. It flies toward the medium 13, forms a toner image 16a on the recording medium 13, and performs recording.

In FIG. 1 (side view), FIG. 2 (front view), and FIG. 3 (perspective view), 1 is a first photosensitive unit, which is made of a first back electrode 1b which has a property and is maintained at a predetermined DC potential (VLb); a first photosensitive layer 1c made of amorphous silicon or the like; It consists of a first charging electrode 1d. 2 is a second photosensitive unit, which includes a second support 2as having a light-transmitting property; a second back electrode 2b1 having a light-transmitting property and kept at a predetermined DC potential (V2b); It consists of a second photosensitive layer 2C% using a photovoltaic material, etc., and a second charging electrode 2d maintained at a predetermined DC potential (V 2d). 3 is a recording medium such as a recording paper installed between the first photosensitive unit 1 and the second photosensitive unit 2, and 6 is a recording medium covered on the first photosensitive layer IC and the first charged electrode ld. This is the toner that has been applied.

Further, the surface resistance of the first photosensitive layer IC and the second photosensitive layer 2C in the portion not irradiated with light is the potential Vld of the first charged electrode 1d and the surface resistance of the second charged electrode 2, respectively.

C21Vlb-V2bl) is a potential difference sufficient for the toner 6 to fly, and if the potential difference in other parts is such that the toner 6 cannot fly, the toner 6 will be transferred to the first part of the part irradiated with the first light 4a. Since the toner 6 flies only from the surface of the photosensitive layer 1c toward the surface of the second photosensitive layer 2c that is irradiated with the second light 5a, the toner 6 does not scatter radially and flies onto the recording medium 3. A high-resolution toner image 6a with significantly reduced peripheral blur is recorded.

[Effects of the Invention] According to the present invention, toner on the first photosensitive layer is recorded by irradiating light onto each of the first photosensitive layer and the second photosensitive layer that face each other with the recording medium in between. Since the toner is attached to the medium, the toner flies without being scattered radially, and a toner image with good resolution can be recorded on the recording medium.
