For side-splitting raw veneers, the edges of the narrow raw veneers are brought together,
An adhesive that can bond green veneer is interposed between the end faces,
It is also formed by fixing multiple threads to the board surface with an adhesive in a direction perpendicular to the fiber direction, but each narrow raw veneer that forms a side-splitting raw veneer has a low moisture content. The amount of shrinkage due to drying varies,
In addition, the moisture content and the amount of shrinkage are often different at both ends of the wood. When dried in a circulating dryer, the difference in shrinkage between the individual short-width veneers, especially at the ends of both ends, causes the veneer to deform into a fan shape, as shown in side-splitting dried veneer A' shown in Figure 7. As shown in FIG. 8, it deforms into a trapezoidal shape. When deformed into a fan shape, the effective width is W′ relative to the desired width W in the fiber direction F, and when deformed into a trapezoid shape,
The effective length for the length L in the direction perpendicular to the desired fiber direction is L'. Therefore, it is necessary to set the draw dimensions for the veneer lace and the cutting length for the side splices in anticipation of these deformations in the width direction and length direction for the short width veneer, and these dimensions are necessary. This was set larger than the above, and this caused a significant drop in yield.

This invention was developed in view of the drawbacks of the conventional method, and as shown in FIG. This is because the locations (three locations in the figure) are attached to the strip S using a strip-shaped sticking body attached with a large number of needle-like protrusions, and then dried by applying pressure and heating with a hot plate. , shrinkage in the direction perpendicular to the fiber direction due to drying is suppressed in the pricked area, and due to the synergistic effect of suppressing shrinkage by applying pressure on the entire surface of the hot plate, the moisture content and Regardless of the difference in shrinkage rate, only a slight, almost constant shrinkage occurs (restoration after release of small cracks that occur at the punctured site and shrinkage that occurs in response to the pressure of the hot plate). By suppressing the shrinkage, especially by suppressing the shrinkage in the vicinity of both butt ends using the strip-shaped sticks, drying can be carried out with almost no irregularities, without deforming into fan-like or trapezoidal shapes. Since the amount of shrinkage in the direction perpendicular to the fiber direction can be predicted, the draw dimensions for veneer lace and the cutting dimensions for cross stitching can be set to dimensions close to the dry finished dimensions, resulting in a significant improvement in yield. Furthermore, since it relies on the pressure and heating of a hot plate, drying can be performed much more efficiently than with hot air methods, and it is also possible to obtain horizontally spliced dried veneers with a flat finish.

After the needle-like protrusions N are stuck to the side-splitting green veneer A near both end ends by the pressure rolls 8, 8', it is opened by the running of each band-like sticks 6, 6'. It is inserted between each heated plate. When this insertion is completed, the actuating mechanism 2 is operated to close each hot plate, and the hot plate presses and heats the horizontally spliced raw veneer A with it being stuck by the band-shaped sticks 6, 6'. Rapid drying is carried out by the heating of this hot plate, and during heating, the side-splitting raw veneer A has strip-shaped splicing bodies 6,
6', and its shrinkage is suppressed by the synergistic effect with the pressure applied by the hot plate, resulting in a side-splitting dried veneer A' with a flat finish without any distortion.
When the drying is finished, open the hot plate, and each strip-shaped stuck body 6,
6' is run, and the dried veneer is side-stripped onto conveyors 9, 9' disposed following each strip-shaped splicing body 6', 6'.
Send out A′. In this case, the unloading conveyors 9, 9' are arranged so that their conveying surfaces cross the conveying surfaces of the respective band-shaped stuck bodies 6, 6', and the needle-like convex bodies N are laterally stripped from the dried veneer A'. It also serves as a means of escape from the surface. The detachment to release the needle-like protrusions N from this plate surface is carried out on the conveying surface of each strip-shaped stuck object 6, 6' in close proximity to the rotary wheel at the delivery end on which each strip-shaped stuck object 6, 6' is stretched. Appropriate means can be used, such as attaching a large-diameter rotary wheel that crosses the ground.

Each conveyor 13 and 13' is connected to each groove 16.
The operation of moving the conveyors 18, 18', 19, and 16' into and out is performed, for example, by actuating mechanisms 20, 20' attached to the frame of each conveyor 18, 18', 19, 19'.
That is, the respective rotary wheels 14, 15, 14', 15' are raised and lowered by the operation of the respective operating mechanisms 20, 20', and the conveying surface of each conveyor 13, 13' is moved into each groove 16, 15'.
16'. In this embodiment, each hot plate is open and each conveyor 13,
With 13' in the raised position, the side-splitting raw veneer A is conveyed from the conveyor 17, 17' to the conveyor 13, 1.
3' feeds the raw veneer A between the hot plates, and when the side-splitting raw veneer A reaches a predetermined position, the conveyors 13, 13' are lowered by the operating mechanisms 20, 20', and the side-splitting raw veneer A A is placed on each hot plate 11', 11''.At this time, the vicinity of both butt ends of the side-splitting raw veneer A are almost aligned with each band-shaped splinter body 12, 12', and then the actuating mechanism 10 is activated to close the hot plate, and by applying pressure, the needle-like protrusions N of the band-shaped stuck bodies 12, 12' are closed.

As described above, the present invention enables the surface of a cross-splitting raw veneer to be moved in a direction perpendicular to the fiber direction thereof, and at least for cross-splitting raw veneers, by means of a strip-shaped sticking body attached with a large number of needle-like protrusions. Since drying is performed by applying pressure and heating with a hot plate while the parts close to both butt ends of the board are attached, the drying shrinkage in the direction perpendicular to the fibers is caused by the attachment and pressure. It is possible to dry horizontally spun raw veneers with no deformation or less shrinkage, even when multiple sheets of narrow raw veneer with different amounts of shrinkage are joined together. The dimensions and cutting dimensions of the horizontal strips can be set as small as possible, contributing to improved yields, and since contact heating is performed using a hot plate, highly efficient drying can be performed in a short period of time. It has made a great contribution to plywood manufacturing.
