拡散板を照射するバツクライトにおいて、光源光
を発する光源と、この光源を保持するホルダが設
けられた基板と、前記光源光を拡散して液晶デイ
スプレイを背面から照射する拡散板と、この拡散
板に入射しなかつた光源光を拡散板に反射するラ
イトガイドとを具備しており、前記ライトガイド
の光源近傍には光源光を拡散板に対して垂直に反
射する斜面部と、光源光を拡散板の周縁部に反射
する平面部とが交互に設けられ、ライトガイドの
周縁部には光源光を拡散板に対して垂直に反射す
る段差部が設けられていることを特徴とするバツ
