【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は印字文字を修正する機能を備えた印字
装置に係わり、特に修正を良好ならしめる様にし
たものである。

従来、記録紙上に印字された文字を修正するに
は、その文字の上に記録紙と同色のインク(通常
白色)を転写し、隠蔽させることにより行つてい
た。この従来例を図により説明する。第1図は記
録紙上に印字された文字であり、5×7ドツトマ
トリツクスによりA,B,C,D,Eと印字すべ
きをA,B,C,E,Eと誤印字してしまつたも
のであるが、このEをDに訂正する。誤印字Eを
訂正するには、まず5×7ドツトマトリツクスの
金ドツトを、白インクで上から隠蔽する。この状
態を示したのが第2図で、右上りの斜線にて示し
たドツトが誤印字したEのドツトで、左上りの斜
線で示したドツトが白インクを転写したドツトで
ある。この様にして誤印字したEを白インクによ
り隠蔽した後、新たにDを黒インクにより印字す
ることにより訂正が完了したことになる。しかし
この様な方法であると、誤印字された文字が必ず
しも良好に修正されることがなく、白インクを通
して文字が透けて見えることがあり、特に隠蔽部
を空白として残す場合など誤印字文字が見え易
く、非常に印字品位を落とすものであつた。

第3図は本発明の実施例による熱転写式印字装
置を示すもので、1は熱転写ヘツドであつてキヤ
リツジ2に固定され、黒色インクを担持した印字
用インクリボン10(第4図)及び記録紙3をプ
ラテン4に押圧した状態でガイド軸5に案内さ
れ、左右に移動する。キヤリツジ2にはベルト6
が固着されており、モータ7の回動力を歯車8を
介してキヤリツジに伝達している。熱転写ヘツド
1には第4図に示す如く、縦方向に発熱素子9を
7個配列しており、その発熱素子のうち所定のも
のを選択的に間欠駆動させて印字用インクリボン
10上の黒色インクを溶融させ、記録紙3上に転
写していく。尚詳しくは、黒色インクはワツクス
等の熱溶融性材料とカーボンブラツク等の顔料と
からなり、溶融した時に記録紙に付着し、ベース
フイルムより剥離して転写がなされる。この様に
転写が行なわれている時、熱転写ヘツドは一定の
速さで移動していくので、記録紙3上にはドツト
状の文字が印字されていく。印字した文字を修正
する時には、印字用インクリボン10に代えて修
正用インクリボン(不図示)を熱転写ヘツド1の
発熱素子と記録紙3間に装着する。

る回路であり、この検出回路11の出力により制
御回路12が印字装置全体の動作を制御するもの
で、発熱素子の駆動タイミング、モータ7の回
転、インクリボンの送り、及び記録紙の送り等が
制御される。13は制御回路12によりタイミン
グをとられて、発熱素子9を駆動するドライバ回
路であり、電源回路14によりその電源を供給さ
れる。15は誤印字を修正する命令を発するスイ
ツチであり、このスイツチを押下した後、不図示
のキーボード部で修正すべき桁数を指定する。こ
れにより制御回路12はキヤリツジを指定された
桁に移動させ、また印字用インクリボン10に代
えて修正用インクリボンを印字位置に装着し、該
桁の全てのドツトに白インクを転写する。この時
熱転写ヘツド1は、誤印字部に対し2回転写動作
を行ない、第6図に示す如く、黒インク層16の
上に白インク層17が2層形成される。この様に
黒インク層の上に2層(3層以上でも良い)の白
インク層が形成されると、白インクが黒インクを
隠蔽する力は飛躍的に向上する。

移動させるための移動手段と、 誤印字を修正するための修正情報を発するため
の指示手段と、 前記指示手段によつて発せられた修正情報に応
じて、前記サーマルヘツドが被修正領域を自動的
に複数回加熱するよう前記サーマルヘツドを制御
するための制御手段と、 を有することを特徴とする熱転写式印字装置。
