Ultrasonic scalpels concentrate ultrasonic energy on unnecessary tissue, crush or emulsify the tissue, and expel it to the outside. Because it can selectively remove tumors, stones, etc., it is widely used in surgical procedures. It has been applied in various fields and has shown excellent medical effects.

On the other hand, electric scalpel is also essential for surgical operations.
Not only is it effective for incising the skin and separating muscle and cartilage, but it is also extremely useful for hemostasis and coagulation at the surgical site.

However, in the past, it has often been necessary to use both in surgical operations and the like. However, since they are originally configured independently, it is necessary to interrupt the surgery and use a different scalpel each time, adjusting it according to the situation of the surgical field at that time. However, the adjustment is time-consuming and labor-intensive, and as a result, it has become an obstacle to performing a quick, appropriate, and efficient surgery.

Further, a drawback of conventional ultrasonic scalpels is that patients who come into contact with the tip of the tip may receive an electric shock, causing burns or other accidents. In other words, since chips are primarily required to be rigid, special alloy steels such as titanium-chromium and titanium-barium are often used, but since these are good electrical conductors, they are not susceptible to vibration. Electrical leakage from electrical equipment that rotates the tip is often conducted to the tip of the tip, causing an electric shock to the patient during surgery, and there is a strong need for countermeasures against this problem.

This invention was made in view of the actual situation,
This is an ultrasonic scalpel device equipped with an electric scalpel that can immediately take measures to stop and coagulate hemostasis if a blood vessel is damaged and bleeding occurs during the stage of crushing and emulsifying tissue using an ultrasonic scalpel. In addition to providing a function that allows easy conversion from an ultrasonic scalpel to an electric scalpel, and from an electric scalpel to an ultrasonic scalpel, we have developed the tip's constituent materials in order to eliminate electric shock accidents that conventionally occur when using an ultrasonic scalpel. The ultrasonic scalpel has been changed to a material with electrical insulation properties such as plastic, and the tip of the electric scalpel that protrudes from the tip is energized only when used as an electric scalpel, making the ultrasonic scalpel much safer. The purpose is to provide the following.

In the present invention, the following measures are adopted to solve the problems. That is, a) an ultrasonic scalpel comprising a tip that is attached to the tip of a vibrator and whose vibrations are transmitted by the vibrator, b) the tip is made of an electrical insulator such as plastic or ceramics, and c) a tip of the tip. A cap body is provided which is removably attached to the distal end, the distal end is made of metal or is formed into a conductor by vapor deposition of metal, and becomes an electric scalpel tip when energized through a lead wire. Become.

FIG. 2 is a perspective view of essential parts of a conventional ultrasonic scalpel. A chip 1 attached to the tip of a vibrator 2 via a screw or the like is vibrated by the vibrator 2.
Although not shown, the vibrator 2 is connected to an oscillator built into the main body. Tip surface 1a of tip 1
The chip is formed flat so as to be pressed at right angles to the target surface, and a hollow hole 1b is formed in the chip, and a suction device (not shown) fitted into the rear end of this hole The crushed or emulsified unnecessary tissue is discharged to the outside. However, since these details are not directly related to the present invention, a detailed explanation will be omitted.

A scalpel according to the present invention is shown in FIG. first,
A feature of the present invention is that the chip 1 is made of an electrical insulator such as plastics or ceramics. Plastics suitable for the chip include, for example, polyacrylate, polyether sulfon, or glass fiber reinforced plastics. Ceramics include, for example, relatively hard materials mainly composed of oxides such as alumina, magnesia, and silica. Some are highly rigid and have good moldability. Both are electrically poor conductors, that is, insulators, and there is no possibility that leakage from the vibrator 2 or the like will reach the tip of the tip and cause an electric shock to the patient.

Next, other important features of this invention are:
The present invention consists in attaching a cap body 4 which is detachably attached to the tip end of the chip.

This cap body 4 has a structure similar to a cap that is placed over the tip of a pencil, and although it does not have to be made entirely of metal, at least its tip 3
A is made of metal or vapor-deposited metal, and is a conductor. A lead wire 4 connected to an external power source is attached to an appropriate location on the cap body, and if necessary, the cap body 4 is energized and the tip end 3a
functions as the electric knife tip. While using the ultrasonic scalpel, it can be removed and left in place, and when needed for hemostasis and coagulation, it can be immediately fitted to serve as the tip of the electric scalpel.
Furthermore, as soon as the device is used, it can be removed and used again as an ultrasonic scalpel.

The present invention is based on the above configuration, and
First, since the tip is made of an electrical insulator, there is no risk of electric shock to the patient when using the ultrasonic scalpel, and it also prevents bleeding due to damage to blood vessels that occurs when using the ultrasonic scalpel. This is an extremely useful device, as it allows rapid hemostasis and coagulation, which greatly improves the efficiency and safety of surgical operations.
