Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts items for an image former as well as to facilitate the takeout of a jammed sheet of paper by installing a conveyor roller pair free of movement from a first position to a second one, in a part of a carry-in passage leading to a stacker of a sheet conveyor. CONSTITUTION:A sheet being fed out of a fixing device 34 is first held between paired conveyor rollers 71 situated in a first position A. Next, this roller pair 71 is moved from the first position A to a second position B, and the sheet held between these paired conveyor rollers 71 is guided to a stacker 51 and housed therein. Thus, the conveyor roller pair 71 is installed free of movement between these first and second positions A and B, whereby a space on the stacker 1 is enlargeable so wide, thus a jammed sheet of paper is easily removable.

(Function) That is, in the present invention, a pair of conveying rollers movable from a first position to a second position is provided in a part of the conveyance path of the paper conveying device to the stacker, and the paper from the fixing device is conveyed by the pair of rollers. Since the structure is such that the parts are held and moved from the first position to the second position and guided to the stacker, there is no need for a transport member in the middle of the movement path of the transport roller pair from the first position to the second position. Since the number of sheets is reduced, the structure can be simplified, and costs can be reduced. At the same time, the space above the stacker is increased, and jammed sheets can be easily removed.

Next, a double-sided copying operation to the paper P taken out from the large-capacity paper feeder 16 will be explained. First, set the document tray on the platen glass 4 shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, and then use the numeric keypad 6 shown in FIG. After inputting, press copy key 8. As a result, the drum-shaped photoreceptor 20 (see FIG. 3) rotates in the direction of the arrow (clockwise), and the photoreceptor 20 is uniformly charged by the charging device 21. On the other hand, an original set on the platen glass 4 is scanned by the exposure device 22, and the photoreceptor 20 is exposed to slit light. Then, an electrostatic latent image corresponding to the original is formed on the photoreceptor 20.

Meanwhile, in synchronization with this developer image forming operation, as shown in FIG.
The paper P is automatically taken out from the large-capacity paper feeder 16 as shown in FIG. At this time, the movable stopper 64 of the stacker 51 has been moved to a predetermined position in response to the paper size designation signal. The paper P automatically taken out from the large-capacity paper feeder 16 is sent to the image transfer section 30 via a pair of registration rollers 33, and the developer image previously formed on the photoreceptor 20 is transferred to the transfer device 24. Then, the paper P is peeled off from the photoreceptor 20 by the peeling device 5f25 and conveyed to the fixing device 34 side via the paper conveyance path 32. The developer image is then sent to the fixing device 34, where the developer image is melted and fixed onto the paper P, and then the image shown in FIG.

Next, as shown in FIG. 4(i), the developer image is transferred onto the paper P in the same manner as described above, and after the paper P is peeled off from the photoreceptor 20, it is sent to the fixing device 34 via the paper transport path 32. After the developer image is melted and fixed on the paper P, the image shown in FIG.
As shown in j), the paper is guided by the gate 37 toward the pair of paper discharge rollers 31 and led to the tray 18.

Further, as shown in FIG. 5, the reciprocating movement of the movable unit 73 is set to T2, which is the same as the reciprocating time T1 of the carriage carrying the exposure light source and the first mirror that performs exposure scanning of the document tray. This allows efficient image formation with no wasted operations.

FIG. 6 shows the conveyance state of the paper P that has been copied on one side, and FIG. b)
1 shows a state in which the pair of transport rollers 71 holding the leading edge of the paper P are moving. Further, FIG. 6(c) shows a state in which the paper P transported by the movement of the transport roller pair 71 is carried into the stacker 51. Further, FIG. 6(d) shows a state in which the sheets P are stacked on the stacker 51 and the transport roller pair 71 has returned.

Note that image formation is performed in the same manner when the paper P is fed from the paper feed cassette 15 or the paper P is fed from the manual paper feed tray 17. In addition, in the case of single-sided copying, the paper can be directly transferred to the tray without being guided to the paper conveying device 3.
It will be discharged on 8th.
