Abstract

PURPOSE:To secure the structural strength of a heat insulating body by a method wherein a space, formed of an outer plate and an inner plate, is filled with foamed body through a hole made by cutting one part of the surface skin, then, the inside of the space is evacuated and, thereafter, the hole is sealed to make the heat insulating body. CONSTITUTION:A heat insulating body 7 is made by a method wherein a space formed of an outer plate 2 and an inner plate 3 is filled with foamed body 8 such as open-cell foam or the like. Upon the filling work of the foamed body 8, an opening 10 is provided on one part of the outer plate 2 or the inner plate 3 and the foamed body is poured into the space until the foam overflows, then, the overflowing part of the foamed body 8 is cut by a cutter or the like and the inside of the space is evacuated through the cut part. When the space is evacuated to a predetermined negative pressure, the opening 10 is sealed by a seal material 11 and thus the heat insulating body 7 is prepared. According to this method, the foamed body is filled while being adhered to the outer plate and the inner plate whereby the structural strength of the heat insulating body may be secured.

Reference numeral 7 denotes a heat insulator, and the space formed by the outer plate 2 and inner plate 3 is filled with a foam body 8 such as an open-cell foam. At this time, bubble breakage occurs at the contact surfaces between the foam body 8, the outer plate 2, the inner plate 3, and the air due to wall resistance and heat radiation, and a skin 9 is formed. The foam body 8 has air permeability, but the skin 9 is a resin layer and has significantly reduced air permeability. Therefore, an opening 10 is provided in a part of the outer panel 2 or the inner panel 3 so that the foam body 8 overflows the outer panel 2 or the inner panel 3, and the foam body 8 is formed along the surface of the outer panel 2 or the inner panel 3. The overflowing part is removed with a cutter or the like, and the pressure inside the part is reduced from that part, and when the pressure reaches a predetermined level, it is sealed with a sealing material 11 such as aluminum tape.
