Abstract

PURPOSE:To flexibly cope with a number of trays related to the actual use of a user by freely mounting and removing an arbitrary number of trays, having a paper receiving function, in an arbitrary position so that a number of steps of the trays can be adjusted. CONSTITUTION:A tray 1 can be mounted to and removed from a paper discharge device main unit 7, and an opening part or the like is previously formed in multiple stages in a box-shaped case, which constitutes the main unit 7, so that the many trays can be mounted. When hook parts 3A, 3B are hooked to openings 8A, 8B, in a paper receiving part for the paper passage opening 9, a connector in the case 4 is connected to a connector 10 in a side of the main unit 7. Next, paper S, discharged from a picture forming part, is fed in an upward direction from a belt 11 and conveying rollers 12, while when a solenoid 13, provided in the tray 1, is turned on, an advancing path of the paper S is turned in a crossing manner with the belt and switched toward a tray one step lower than the tray with the solenoid provided. And when the solenoid 13 is turned off, a movable pawl 5 is brought down, and the paper S is fed to pass through the pawl 5 and discharged to the outside of a machine when the whole machine operation is turned off.

For this reason, for example, if the number of trays actually used by the user is smaller than the number of existing trays, the user ends up wasting the cost of the tray by the difference, and vice versa. In this case, there are disadvantages such as the need to replace the paper ejecting device itself with one that has one rank higher in tray count.

On the other hand, the movable pawl 5 is located near the belt 11, and by turning on a solenoid 13 provided on the tray 1, it is rotated in a shape intersecting with the belt, so that the path of the paper S is set in the direction of the solenoid provided. Switch to the tray one level below. When the solenoid 13 is off, the movable claw 5 is in the position shown by the broken line in the figure, and one paper amount is equal to the movable claw 5.

In other words, as shown in FIG. 4, inside the case 4, the shaft 5J
A filler 15 is attached to the shaft end of the filter, and a filter paper amount switch SWI and a paper height switch SW2, which are turned on and off depending on the rotating position of the filler 15, are attached to the case 4, respectively.

For example, as shown by the solid line in FIG. 4, when the tip of the lever 6 is lowered, it indicates that there is no paper in the tray below the tray where this lever is installed, and at this time the filler 15 is opposed to the paper amount switch SWI. It is in this position that certain electrical information indicating this is obtained.

Similarly, when the tip of the lever 6 rises as shown by the broken line in FIG. It is located opposite SW2, and certain electrical information indicating this is obtained, and this information is sent to the control unit through the connector. Then paper fish switch SVI
is a paper presence/absence detection means, and the paper height switch SW2 is a main component of the paper amount detection means.

Next, FIG. 6 shows the electrical circuit of the connector section provided on the tray side. In the figure, terminal T1 is for solenoid 13,
Terminals 1 and 2 are for the paper height switch SWZ, terminal T3 is for the paper fish switch S1, terminal T4 is for the short bar for detecting the presence or absence of a tray, and terminal T is for grounding and is connected to the paper ejection device 7. It is connected to the terminal on the connector 10 side (1j).

In the above, the short bar is for the control section to read the position where the tray is set depending on which position of the connector 10 on the other side is short-circuited, and the control section uses this information to set the tray. It becomes possible to determine the number of stacked trays and which L-ray has which stack.

In this example, the path switching means, the paper presence/absence detection means, and the paper amount detection means are all provided in 1 to ray, but at least 1 in the center of these is provided.
More than one means may be provided.

According to this example, since only the required amount of trays can be attached and used, versatility is increased and user-friendliness is improved. For example, if you have a sorter with a total stack of 1,500 sheets, you can use it as 100 sheets x 15 trays, or
Used as 0 sheets x 5 trays, but 300 sheets x 3 trays + 1
If the user can freely set whether to use the tray as a 6 x 00 sheet tray, the user's operability will be greatly improved.

Furthermore, users only need to purchase the number of trays they actually need, which is advantageous in terms of cost. Incidentally, in the conventional method, all means for detecting the presence of paper, etc. are provided on the paper output device itself regardless of whether it is used or not, and the user pays the cost of unused portions at the time of purchase. ) could have been wasted, but this example eliminates such cases. Furthermore, if a larger number of trays is desired, this can be achieved by purchasing only additional trays, eliminating the need to replace the paper ejecting device itself.
