In FIG. 3, 17 is a metal lid plate, which has a hole 171L in the center for attaching the backing 16, and 15 is a hollow rivet with a rectangular head that connects the backing 16 to the metal lid plate. By caulking the tip 15b through the washer 18, the lid plate 1
It is fixed at 7. 21 is a terminal cap having seven rectangular flange 21& having the same shape as the head of the rivet 3, and has a rubber valve body 14 inside, and is welded and fixed to the rectangular head 161L of the hollow rivet by spot welding. Ta.

A shearing force was applied to the spot weld 20 between the rectangular head 161L of the hollow rivet and the rectangular flange 211L of the terminal cap, and the spot weld 2° was sometimes destroyed, causing the terminal cap 21 to come off. In the case of cylindrical batteries, the direction in which they are installed and removed from equipment is irregular relative to the battery, but in the case of prismatic batteries, the direction in which they are installed and removed in equipment is always fixed relative to the battery (see Figure 4). (in the direction shown by the arrow B), particularly in storage batteries, the rectangular head 16 of the hollow rivet and the terminal cap 2 are repeatedly attached to and detached from devices and chargers hundreds of times.
The spot weld 2o of the flange 211L of No. 1 causes impact and fatigue failure. 24 indicates a battery can. Various methods have been tried in the past to solve this problem.

In addition, if a projection is installed on the flange 211L of the terminal cap 21 and spot welded, the welding strength will be improved, but the compression dimension of the valve body 14 will not be constant due to the projection, and as a result, the operating pressure of the safety device will be unstable. Met.

Since it is in contact with the head, even if the shape of the projection changes due to spot welding, the compression dimension of the valve body is always constant, making it possible to keep the operating pressure of the safety device constant.

What is shown in the figure. (2) As shown in Figure 3, the current value of the spot welding machine is doubled. (3) One of each of the three types with a projection gas in the spot welded part.
Prototyped 00 pieces, tested for leakage resistance, stability of safety device operating pressure,
and the mounting strength were compared. The standard for leakage resistance is that all units pass if there is no leakage after being left in a hot and humid environment at a temperature of 60°C and a relative humidity of 9o%.The standard for stability of safety device operating pressure is that all units must meet the set operating pressure CTkQ/ If d > plus or minus 1kg1d, it passes, and the standard for mounting strength is as shown in Figure 4, after repeated attachment and detachment to the device or charger 1000 times in each direction of arrows M and B. If you can't get it, it's considered a pass.
