Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce manufacturing costs without degrading performance by forming a gimbal spring of a plastic material, and applying an electrostatic eliminating conductive coating on the surface of the spring. CONSTITUTION:The plastic material is used for a gimbal spring 4A. On the surface of the plastic gimbal spring 4A, electrostatic eliminating conductive coating 7 is applied. As the plastic material for the spring 4A, Polyarelate(R) (made by Unitika Ltd.) with high mechanical strength is used, a silver filler is coated by 10mum coating film width by a spray method as a coating 7, and dried by an extreme infrared heating. Thus the manufacturing costs can be reduced without degrading the performance.
