本発明の装置を用いた場合には、被破壊容積に等しい容
積に音波を集束されることによって直ちに非常に小さな
腫瘍を破壊することができるので、簡単に体外から新規
な治療ができるということは理解できよう。超音波を用
いることによって例えば1mm’程度の小さな容積を破
壊することができ、電気−油圧(electrohyd
raulic)型の衝撃波発生器を用いることによって
1cm3程度の小さな腫瘍を破壊することができる。

療場所で発生させることができる。さらに、これら気泡
の直径は広範囲で変えることができる。気泡の最大直径

消えてしまうので、既に述べたように、直径が0.1〜
300μmの非常に安定した気泡を使用するのが望まし
い。

低出力下のキャビテーション現象によって発生した気泡
を内部破壊させる。この方法は圧電素子を用いた超音波
発生器の場合は特に容易に実施できる。すなわち、この
超音波発生器は、数十KHzで作動した場合にキャビテ
ーション現象によって治療場所で気泡が発生し、数百K
Hzから数MHzで作動した場合に気泡が内部破壊して
、焦点Fとその周囲の細胞12が破壊される。

本発明は、さらに、生体、特にヒトを含む哺乳類の身体
内部の細胞を選択的に破壊するための治療方法にも関す
るものであり、本発明の方法の特徴は、選択的に破壊す
べき細胞の場所に気泡を発生させ、発生した気泡を内部
破壊させることによって、内部破壊した気泡の近傍にあ
る被破壊細胞を破壊する点にある。
内部の細胞を選択的に破壊するための治療方法にも関す
るものであり、本発明の方法の特徴は、選択的に破壊す
べき細胞の場所に気泡を発生させ、発生した気泡を内部
破壊させることによって、内部破壊した気泡の近傍にあ
る被破壊細胞を破壊する点にある。
本発明方法の実際の使用態様は前記の説明から当業者に
は明らかであろう。

Claims (14)
- (1)生体、特にヒトを含む哺乳類の身体(14)の内
部の細胞(12)を選択的に破壊する装置(10)にお
いて、(a)選択的に破壊すべき細胞の所で気泡(22
)を発生する気泡発生手段(20)と、 (b)上記気泡(22)をその場で内部破壊させて、内
部破壊された気泡(22)に隣接した細胞を破壊させる
内部破壊手段(24)と によって構成されることを特徴とする装置。 - (2)上記内部破壊手段(24)が高出力の音波の発生
手段(26)を有していることを特徴とする請求項1記
載の装置。 - (3)上記高出力の音波が数十から数百バールの圧力波

ゼラチン、レシチン、ポリオキシエチレンの脂肪酸エス
テル、ポリエチレングリコールグリセリンリシンオレー
ト、ポリオキシエチレンポリオキシプロピレンポリマー
、サッカロースエステル、C_4〜C_2_0の不飽和
脂肪族アルコール、C_4〜C_2_0の不飽和脂肪酸
、モノグリセリド、ジグリセリド、トリグリセリド、マ
ルトース、デキストロース、ラクトースまたはガラクト
ースによって作られていることを特徴とする請求項9に
記載の装置。 - (11)気泡発生手段(20)が、キャビテーション現
象によってその場で気泡を発生させるキャビテーション
発生手段(26)を含むことを特徴とする請求項1〜6
のいずれか一項に記載の装置。 - (12)キャビテーション発生手段(26)が、数バー
ルから数十バールに変化可能な強い負の波を発生する超
音波発生器によって構成されていることを特徴とする請
