Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a device from fouling the due to toner scattering or spilling by turning scraping/feeding plates, and feeding toner, which has been removed from the surface of photosensitive body and gradually drops on the surface of a floor inside a cleaning device, to a toner pool part. CONSTITUTION:The toner is peeled off from a photosensitive drum 1 by a cleaning blade 2, guided by a guiding plate 3 repeating slight vibrations, and drops. The dropped toner is accumulated in the vicinity of the housing bottom part L at the initial period of cleaning, and gradually accumulated in a S part along the housing slope as time passes. The accumulated toner in the S part is gradually scraped/fed from the S part to the U part of the toner pool part by a scraping/feeding plate 500. At this time, since the toner adhering to the scraping/feeding plate 500 is removed by a scraping/feeding plate 600, it is always refreshed and its scraping/feeding performance is not deteriorated. Thus, the occurrence of toner scattering or spilling due to toner accumulating in a opening part can be prevented.

Conventionally, various devices have been used as cleaning devices for removing toner remaining on a photoreceptor, and one of them is a blade cleaning device. As shown in Fig. 1, such an apparatus has a cleaning blade B that comes into contact with the surface of the photoreceptor to peel off the toner remaining on the photoreceptor, and has the advantage of a simple configuration. As time passes, toner tends to accumulate not only in the toner pool X but also near the opening Y of the device housing, and the toner that accumulates near the opening Y may scatter or spill from the opening Y. This is easy to do, and can cause soiling of the device and poor cleaning.

As a means to solve the above-mentioned drawbacks, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 48-43343
A cleaning device is known as described in the above publication. The cleaning device described in the above-mentioned publication has a structure in which, after removing toner from the surface of the photoreceptor, a block (blanket) having a square cross section is rotated, and the toner is scraped away with the tip of the block. However, in the method of scraping toner with the block body as described above, the toner that falls and accumulates on the floor of the cleaning device is compressed and pressed against the floor surface by the block body surface and tip, increasing the resistance force and pushing the block body. The disadvantage is that it cannot rotate smoothly. Therefore, if the gap between the floor surface of the cleaning device and the tip of the block body is increased, the above-mentioned drawbacks can be solved, but the amount of toner raking is extremely reduced, making it difficult to always smoothly raking a predetermined amount of cleaned toner. As a result, toner accumulates in the vicinity of the opening of the cleaning device housing, resulting in a disadvantage that the toner is likely to scatter or spill from the opening.

[Object of the present invention] The present invention eliminates the drawbacks of the conventional cleaning device as described above. By sending toner from the surface of the photoreceptor to the toner removal reservoir, the toner is removed from the cleaning device due to scattering or spillage. The purpose is to prevent contamination of the equipment.

FIG. 3 shows a cross section of a cleaning device employing the present invention. In the figure, 1 is a photosensitive drum, and 2 is a cleaning blade that peels off toner remaining on the photosensitive drum after an image formed on the photosensitive drum is transferred to a transfer paper by a known method. Reference numeral 3 denotes a toner guide plate supported by a support plate 4 that swings around a shaft 5) I-1, and the guide plate is made of a material that prevents toner from adhering or accumulating and does not adversely affect the photosensitive drum. be. The guide plate guides the falling direction of the toner peeled off from the photosensitive drum l, and prevents the toner from scattering or spilling from the opening of the cleaning device housing. 5 is guided by the toner guide plate and falls to the housing slope S of the toner reservoir.
This is a scraping device that scrapes the toner accumulated near the toner reservoir to the 0 part of the toner reservoir.During copying operations, it draws a chain line trajectory around the shaft 5)l-2, which is driven by a known drive source. It constantly rotates integrally with the shaft 5H-2. The scraping device includes a scraping plate 500 and a scraping plate support base 50.

The toner that has adhered and accumulated on the toner scraping plate 500 is removed from the scraping plate 500 while the toner scraping plate 600 contacts the scraping plate 500 and is pressed by the scraping plate 500 to be elastically deformed. When the suppression of the scraping plate 500 is released, the toner scraping plate 600 returns to its original position due to its own elastic force.

The toner peeled off from the photosensitive drum 1 by the cleaning blade 2 is guided by the guide plate 3 that repeatedly vibrates, and falls without being deposited on the guide plate 3. At the initial stage of cleaning, the toner is deposited near the bottom of the housing, but as the amount of toner increases over time, the toner gradually comes to be deposited in eight areas along the slope of the housing. The toner accumulated in the 8th part is successively scraped away from the 8th part of the toner reservoir to the U part by the scraping plate 500. At this time, toner adheres and accumulates on the scraping plate 500, but unless the toner is removed from the scraping plate 500, the scraping ability of the scraping plate 500 decreases, and the toner does not move along the slope of part 8. The toner will accumulate on the entire area and even on the guide plate 3, which will have a negative effect on the cleaning of the photosensitive drum l, but the toner scraping plate 600 removes the toner adhering to the scraping plate 500. Since the scraping plate 500 is always refreshed, the toner scraping ability does not decrease. The toner is scraped and fed by the scraping plate 500. The toner is subjected to the pressing force of the scraping plate 600 and the partitioning action of the scraping plate 600 and the holding member 601, and is deposited one after another without collapsing in the U portion of the toner reservoir, and is scraped away. It will not spill toward the board 500 or the guide board 3. When a predetermined amount of toner has accumulated in the toner reservoir within the housing, the removable portion of the housing can be removed and the toner can be disposed of.

The relationship between the scraping plate 600 and the scraping plate 500 is not limited to the illustrated embodiment, and the material, mounting position, etc. of the scraping plate 600 do not adversely affect the rotation of the toner scraping plate 500. , the relationship may be such that the scraping performance is good.

As described above, in the present invention, after removing the toner remaining on the surface of the photoreceptor, the toner that has fallen into the cleaning device is quickly and efficiently sent to the toner reservoir using the toner scraping plate provided on the supporting base. In particular, in the present invention, the toner scraping and feeding means is made into a plate shape and the toner is conveyed in the horizontal direction, so that even when the toner is rotated, the toner is not pressed between the scraping plate and the floor surface of the cleaning device, and the toner can be fed reliably. becomes.

In addition, the plate shape allows a large amount of toner to be scraped away with a single rotation, eliminating toner scattering and spilling caused by toner being immersed in the opening, and increasing the speed of copying machines. can also be handled. In addition, since the tip of the toner scraping plate is formed into a plate shape even when it comes into contact with the floor surface of the cleaning device, it can be bent and deformed, and there is no need to manufacture it with high precision. It also has the effect of being easy to use.
