Abstract

PURPOSE:To effectively utilize the recording capacity of a magnetic disk to the utmost by constituting the track of a magnetic disk in such way that digital compressed signals of still pictures and sounds can be recorded respectively on the same track of the magnetic disk. CONSTITUTION:Signals of still pictures and sounds inputted as analog signals are compressed of a compression circuit 9 after the signals are converted into digital signals at an A/D converter 8. The compressed digital signals are recorded on a still video floppy disk 7 by means of a recording and reproducing circuit 10. Reproduction of the still pictures and sounds recorded on the floppy disk 7 is performed in such a way that the digital compressed signals read out by means of the circuit 10 from the disk 7 are expanded by means of an expansion circuit 11 in the opposite way to the recording. The expanded digital signals are outputted after the signals are converted into analog signals by means of a D/A converter 12. Thus the recording capacity of the magnetic disk can be utilized effectively to the utmost.

Further, as an additional function of such an electronic still camera, some electronic still cameras are configured to be able to time-compress and record on the still video floppy an explanation of the contents of the photographed still image and audio for increasing the realistic window of the image.

<Problems to be Solved by the Invention> By the way, in the above-mentioned electronic still camera, one track of the still video floppy generally has one track of the TV screen due to the dimensional limitations and performance of the still video floppy.
The system is configured to record analog fields, and when recording audio as described above, for example, video information is recorded on odd-numbered tracks using field recording, and audio signals are time-compressed and recorded on even-numbered tracks. ing.

In this way, in the past, the audio signal corresponding to the still image was recorded on a track different from the track on which the still image was recorded, and the still image and audio were made to correspond on a track-by-track basis. Therefore, even if it is necessary to record for a time shorter than the maximum audio time that can be recorded on one track (for example, 9.6 seconds), one track will be allocated to that recording and all the tracks will not be able to be used effectively. Also, when recording audio signals across multiple tracks, even if recording ends without using up all of the final track of the multiple tracks, the remaining portion can be used for other still image recording or audio recording. The problem was that it was not available.

Additionally, when recording still images and audio on separate tracks, it is necessary to track the playback head when playing back the still image and the audio corresponding to the still image, which increases access time. There is also the problem.

On the other hand, it has been considered to apply the still video floppy as a recording medium to a videophone, which is a type of still image transmission device, and record still images and conversations (audio) transmitted via a telephone line on the still video floppy. Although,
In this case, unlike the case of transmitting high-resolution still images such as drawings and design images, or the case of recording still images taken with an electronic still camera, high image quality (resolution) is not required due to the nature of videophone calls. . Therefore, in the method of analog recording one field of a television screen on one track, there arises a problem that the recording area becomes excessive and the tracks are wasted.

In addition, in the recording device configured as described above, address data of the recording section of the audio signal corresponding to a predetermined still image is recorded in the still image signal recording section, while address data of the recording section of the audio signal corresponding to the predetermined audio is recorded. The address data of the recording section is configured to be recorded in the audio signal recording section.

(Function) According to the recording device configured as described above, a still image digital compressed signal and an audio digital compressed signal are each recorded on one track of a magnetic disk, and the track is distinguished into still image recording and audio recording. It's not a thing. Therefore,
By storing an audio signal corresponding to a still image in a sector after the sector of the track in which the still image is recorded, it is possible to record a pair of still image and audio for each track.

In addition, since the address data (track N (L and position within the track)) of mutually corresponding recording sections are recorded, it is easy to search for the corresponding recording sections even if they are recorded on different tracks. Even if you do not set the recording section (sector) between the still image and the audio corresponding to this still image,
Still images and audio signals can be recorded in empty sectors at any time while maintaining a corresponding relationship, and there is no need to record still images and their corresponding audio in sequence.

The still video recorder 6 records the transmitted still image signals and audio on a still video floppy 7 (for example, a magnetic disk with an outer diameter of 47 mm) that is replaceably mounted, and as shown in FIG. Still image and audio signals input as analog signals are converted into digital signals by an A/D converter 8, and then the digital signals are appropriately thinned out and compressed by a compression circuit 9. The compressed digital signal is recorded on the still video floppy 7 by the recording/reproducing circuit 10. Note that a storage element such as a digital memory is used for the compression process in the compression circuit 9, but this storage element can also be used in common with the expansion circuit 11, which will be described later.

By the way, when recording still image signals and audio signals on the still video floppy 7, as shown in FIG. The corresponding audio is recorded. That is, for example, sector #0 is used for recording digital signals of still images, and the remaining sector #1 is used for recording digital signals of still images.
~The #3 sector is used as a digital signal recording unit for the audio corresponding to the still image recorded in the #0 sector, for example, the still image transmitted via a telephone line and the content of the conversation with the transmitting side at the time of transmitting the still image. According to this configuration, since the still image signal and the audio signal are digitally compressed and recorded, the comparison track can be effectively used when recording data without compression, and the still image and the audio signal corresponding to the still image can be effectively used. Since the audio is recorded on one track, there is no need to track the playback head when reproducing a still image and the audio corresponding thereto, and access time can be reduced.

In addition, instead of dividing one track into a still image sector and an audio sector as described above, still images and audio are recorded sequentially in random order according to the recording order, and they are matched to each other so that the relationship between them is maintained. The address data (track outside and track position) of the recording unit may be recorded.

That is, as shown in FIG. 4, at the end of the track portion where the digital signal of the still image is recorded, the address data of the portion where the corresponding audio is recorded is recorded.
If address data indicating the corresponding still image recording section is also recorded on the audio recording section side, and the corresponding recording section can be pulled out from either the still image or audio side, then it will be possible to record the corresponding recording section within one track. Even if still image signals and audio signals are recorded together and the corresponding recording sections are not on the same track, the correspondence relationship can be easily referred to. Therefore, for example, after compressed digital signals of still images and audio are recorded together, it is possible to record audio corresponding to the previously recorded still images from the middle of the track.

In addition, when recording the address data in the order of still image → audio, the address data of the still image is recorded in the audio recording section, and then the address data of the audio recording section is recorded in the still image recording section, When recording in the order of audio → still image,
Record the address data in the reverse order of the above.

Furthermore, in the still image videophone system shown in this embodiment, the still video recorder 6 can also be used for recording answering machines. In this case, the first sector of one track is used for recording still images, and the remaining sectors are used for recording still images. 3/4 sectors of the field may be used for message recording, and each of the sectors may be configured to digitally compress and record the still image and voice signals transmitted from the other party while the other party is away. It is also possible to reproduce and transmit still images and audio recorded in the still video recorder 6 in advance.

<Effects of the Invention> As explained above, according to the present invention, since the still image and audio signals are digitally compressed and recorded on one track of the magnetic disk, the still image and the corresponding audio signals are recorded separately. It is possible to record audio and audio on one track to reduce the access time during playback, and to make effective use of each track, and to record address data of mutually corresponding recording sections. in,
This has the effect that a still image and its corresponding audio can be easily searched and played back without having to maintain a certain relationship with each other and record them.
