Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate necessity to set a customer file in a shop and to reduce the cost of system construction by recording the shopping data of a customer to an optical card which is issued and delivered to each customer. CONSTITUTION:An optical card reader / writer 2 and a printer 3 are connected to a POS terminal equipment 1. The POS terminal equipment 1 can communicate with a host computer through a communication line and transmits sales data, which are stored for each fixed time, to the host computer. A customer card 4, which is composed of the optical card, is inserted to the optical card reader / writer 2 and data such as the shopping history of the customer, etc., are recorded to the customer card 4. When the settlement of account is executed in shopping, the card 4 is presented and read by the shop terminal equipment 1 and the contents of service are calculated from the history of the shopping. Thus, even when on-line communication is not executed and the customer goes shopping to any shop, the service can be presented based on the history of the shopping.

Detailed Description of the Invention (a) Industrial Application Field This invention stores shopping data on an optical card,
The present invention relates to an optical card shopping system that provides services such as price discounts based on this data.

(b) Conventional Technology Retail stores provide various services to secure regular customers. For example, ■ A system that recruits members and issues cards, and provides services such as discounts when the member presents this card. ■ A system that issues service stickers, etc. for each purchase of a certain amount, and allows customers to accumulate a certain number of these service stickers. Service systems such as systems that exchange or discount cash vouchers of a predetermined amount are becoming widespread. However, in method (■), all members are provided with the same service, so it is not possible to change the service according to the frequency and amount of shopping, and there is a drawback that it is not possible to differentiate among high-priority customers. In method (2), the number of service stickers must be issued according to the purchase amount, which has the disadvantage of complicating the cash register process and prolonging the customer's waiting time. It was troublesome because it had to be stored.

This system is a system for online customer management and services by issuing magnetic card membership cards with membership numbers stored on them to customers. In other words, when a customer presents their membership card at the cashier, an employee scans the card, calls up the customer management file, and determines the discount rate based on the frequency and amount of purchases recorded. .

(e) Function The optical card shopping system of the present invention stores and records shopping data on the optical card for each purchase. Optical cards are general write-once cards with a storage capacity of 2 to 4 MB, and can store the equivalent of about 100 bank passbooks, so a typical customer can store a considerable period of shopping history in one. It can be recorded on one card. In addition, various cards having a storage capacity higher than this have also been put into practical use. When paying for shopping, the customer presents this card, which is read by the store terminal, and the service content (for example, discount rate) is determined from the shopping history. In this way, service content can be determined based on the customer's shopping history, that is, the degree of importance. In addition, the purchase details at that time are also recorded as the latest shopping data. This makes it possible to provide services based on shopping history no matter which store you shop at without offline communication. In addition, since the price of an optical card is around a few hundred yen, the customer's Even if the number is huge, it does not cost much to build the system.

(A) Effects of the Invention As described above, according to the optical card shopping system of the present invention, customer shopping data is recorded on the optical card issued and delivered to each customer, so that the store can store customer files. Since there is no need to set up a system and there is no need for access or communication, the cost of system construction can be reduced, and work at cash registers can be done quickly, improving the efficiency of checkout work and eliminating service deterioration due to waiting time. Furthermore, since it is possible to differentiate services based on the customer's shopping history, it is possible to stimulate the customer's desire to purchase and contribute to an increase in sales.
